Hotel tipicamente americano.
Only Game In Town
The staff -- all of them -- were excellent. The building shows its age as do the rooms. The bed was comfortable, and I liked being able to open the window to let a little fresh air in -- even in the cold. However, seeing out was made difficult by the layers of streaks and grime on the outside. The place was noisy with slamming doors, people walking in the hallways, flushing toilets, taking showers and having conversations in the hallway. My key card failed on a continuous basis. The carpets in general (room and hallways) felt gritty. The chairs (2) were uncomfortable. I thought the breakfast was pretty bad -- one bite of the scrambled eggs (powdered?) and they ended up in the trash. The tortillas were hard (stale). The waffle stuck and once removed, it was mushy (raw) in the middle. I decided not to try the biscuits and gravy. But the worst part of breakfast were the plastic utensils which resembled something you might find on a baby's highchair. So small as to be almost useless -- think of eating corn flakes one flake at a time because that's all the spoon would hold. I stayed at the BW Plus in Rapid City, and the rate was only slightly higher and the difference was absolutely spectacular. After 11 nights in the Super8, I felt as though I had landed in the lap of luxury. Someone on your staff should spend the night there and get some pointers. Although not much can be done about the age of the building, a lot of small and economic steps could be taken to improve a guest's experience. Start with the windows and breakfast
Very Clean and Friendly!!
This Hotel was very clean, updated and the staff is very friendly. We have never had a bad experience here!! We will definitely recommend and be back!! Love that they stay open in off season unlike 90% of the other places.
Nice clean hotel. The room was very nice, clean and bed was comfortable. The rooms we had are a little smaller so would be crowded if you had 4 people in them. Can't say if all there rooms are same size. The front desk ladies were all very nice and helpful! Could have been a little more variety at the breakfast bar but was plenty.
Perfect place to stay to see area
We booked this hotel for a November stay, after the crowds left. It was the perfect location from which to see Mt Rushmore and many, many more interesting sites in southwestern South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska. We went to see Mt Rushmore, but with such a great central location, we travelled all over the area to natural and man-made wonders. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was hot and filling. The pool and hot tub were welcome after a day of driving, hiking, and sightseeing. Custer has some cozy restaurants, many of them were closed for the season. If we ever went back, I would stay there again. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. This is not a fancy place, but it had a homey feel that we appreciated.
