The place was nice and staff was great. 4 out of 5 due to it being a bit pricey and rooms lacking a microwave, smelling a little odd and not too much options continental breakfast options. Overall nice and very close to places we planned on visiting. Will consider visiting again.

Motel 6 disguised as a Hilton

We stayed recently at Tru by Hilton in Edinburg. I have used Hiltons for years, but not this brand. This particular Tru is just a few years old with an Art Deco interior. My issues involved towels that were mere threads a la Motel 6, housekeeping on your fourth day and wall mounted soap/shampoo conditioner. There was not a bar of soap in site. To compound the matter or irritation, the wall mounted soap easily spills on to an already very slick shower floor. So slick, that I could easily see a slip and fall lawsuit in their future. There is no bath tub alternative. Also, this hotel does not offer a swimming pool or hot tub. My bad for not noticing because weather is almost always tropical and warm. Breakfast options include a snazzy automated pancake machine that works well. Felix oversees breakfast operations for Tru and does an excellent job. He greets guests, maintains a clean buffet and keeps it well stocked. He could be the face of the hotel because he’s friendly and caring, which beats the ear-bud clad clerk that checked me out who never inquired as to how was my stay or even come back to see us. The hotel pricing is upscale in my books, and not on the level of Motel 6. I think I would pass on staying here or definitely opt for a lower rate elsewhere. Just disappointed Hilton would offer up this.

I give 10/10 for the app as it made so convenient and easy to search for, book, check in and check out. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by a kind smiling young lady and the environment was relaxing and my room was clean, organized and peaceful. I really had a good night sleep. Appreciate overall

The room temperature is set by the main desk. Room one broken AC with a disgusting filter. Room two temperature is set to sixty-four degrees without the ability to control it. Broken toilet. The water temperature is barely warm. I hope the food prep area water is within the standard. The rooms are on the darkish side. Reminds me of a dorm room. The breakfast is the best part of the stay. Your choice of stale cereal, plain, or raisin bagels you can break a window with or eggs so hard they are unable to be cut with a plastic fork. Certainly, a property not looking for repeat customers. The staff was good.

The room was burning hot and the front desk was never able to lower the temp. They said it was broke and the owner was so cheap they didn’t want guests to adjust the temperature themselves. 3 days of not being able to sleep due to roasting room. Changed rooms 3 times with the same outcome,
