Not customer service oriented
The front desk attendant was not customer service oriented. She was rude and not willing to accommodate our needs. I specifically reserved a king suite because the website said it had a sofa bed. I have a small child, and that was perfect for her. When I asked for sheets for the sofa bed, the front desk attendant refused and argued with me. She said the sofa bed was not to be used as a bed, and that we could both sleep in the king bed since that room has an occupancy of two. I was shocked. Also, there was no breakfast or snack offered and the pool was closed (understandable both due to COVID), but since there is no food being served, I don’t understand why we were not allowed to sit at the tables in the breakfast area, since that’s the only place that we could sit and visit with our family (who was also staying there) be socially distanced. We were told to go sit outside (ummm, it’s hot in June in South Texas) and they had removed all of the tables and chairs by the next morning so that nobody could sit there. The hotel is nice, but the customer service and willingness to make some accommodations is severely lacking.
From the first phone call in September 2019 to the reservation dates June 12-14, this ranks as one of the worst lodging experiences we have every had. Front desk staff is uninformed, rude, unable to answer basic questions, and mostly absent. The hotel is not attempting to offer percentage occupancy for gathering spaces, and made no attempt to accommadte the wedding guests who accounted for sold out status. No offer for rate reduction becasue of benefits not offered, and this morning there was no water in the hotel. No offer for rate reduction for this obvious necessity. If you have business or pleasure travel in Edna, don't stay here. Drive 30 minutes to Victoria Texas for an abundance of adequate lodging.
The service was ok fot arrival and checkout. Was quoted one price over the phone and charged a different price apon checkout. Was not told about no breakfest in amintill we checked in.Refrigerator did not cool nor did door stay closed. Also found food and drinks left in refrigerator. Light above hot tub didnt work. Found dirty laundry hanging on showerrod.
Horrible front desk check in.
Front desk clerk at check-in was totally incompetent. Wrong room assigned. Reservation date incorrect. Key wouldn't work, had to be replaced. One in our party was checked in to a room which was occupied.
Edna TX wedding trip
The hotel decor was very nice. It was clean. The breakfast was delicious. The staff kept it refilled so it was hot and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. The recommended a local restaurant for lunch that was very good.
