Just back from a family holiday

Avaliou em 18 de junho de 2022

We have just come back from 10 days staying with eurocamp. Our accommodation was lovely, spacious and Morden, the site itself is massive, there are soo many activities to choose from and nothing too expensive which is great, the takeaway was tasty but not a massive selection and fairly pricey, it also didn’t open until 7pm for the evening. The ice cream and creperie place was nice when open which wasn’t that often and there was no information anywhere about when it should be open which was a shame. The entertainment we saw was good however nothing started until 9pm which isn’t ideal with little ones and some only last 30/40 mins so that was a shame. The indoor pool is fantastic, open 10-7 each day, loads of different bits to it and they do aerobics in the morning, the outdoor pool is lovely but small and sadly was only open from 2pm onwards which was not great on very hot mornings. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and it would suit children of all ages, would definitely recommend!

Great if you have younger kids, not so great for just adults

This was the first time we have visited this campsite, but not the first using Eurocamp. Good points on the Parc - If you have kids 15 and under, they will love it if they like activities. It's like Centreparcs but abroad, so much for them to do, i think you could run out of time to do it, as long as you have plenty of money for the activites. The dome was amazing and as we went early June, wasn't very busy, so was very relaxing. The parc is kept very clean throughout There was entertainment on, but we didn't attend as it was aimed for children (wasn't expecting it for adults, so no issue) Bad points on the parc On our 3rd day, the only place to take your rubbish had been moved to outside the parc, so the only way to get rid of your rubbish was to take it by car. There wasn't any other places to leave the rubbish for collection. This is first for us, we have stayed on numerous campsites both in France and Spain and there has always been communal rubbish areas. There was only 1 restaurant open (excluding the pizza place) with a very limited menu. Not good if you have fussy eaters in your party. On the Eurocamp website, it states the pizza restaurant didn't open to July, so we didn't try it only to discover it had been open the whole time!! There isn't a snack bar to get chips, sandwiches etc (again another first for a campsite that we have been on). We did discover that the restaurant did snacks but this was too late into our holiday. There should be one adjacent to the bar/pool area. For the size of the parc, there is only 1 bar. I can imagine in the high season, it would be very difficult to get a seat as it isn't big enough for the parc. One of the days we were in the dome, we came out to find our locker had moved and we had to chase the workmen to retrieve it. Otherwise, who knows where it would have gone. These types of work, should be carried out when the dome is closed and not during the day with peoples belongings in. The entrance to the parc is dangerous, cars come and go right next to the bar/outside pool/activities. Kids and adults stepping out everywhere, as they have the right to be walking around. There should be a separate entrance/exit, I'm surprised there wasn't an accident while we were there. There was a school trip to the site one day, with about 100 teanagers roaming around. They came into the dome and where messing around quite a bit, jumping off high railings into the pool. Eventually, the lifeguards spoke to them and I believe made them leave. Quite a few of the younger kids seemed unhappy around them. They then moved on to the foot golf and we had to asked them several times to move as they were blocking the play. Another day, there was a corporate day I think, again teams running all over the place and certain activities closed to people staying on the parc so that they could use them. This isn't what I expect when going to a camptsite, it's for a holdiay, not to have school trips etc on the parc. Review on Eurocamp (this has no relevance to the campsite) Good points The size of our accumodation was excellent. Great location away from the main areas and next to family also staying there. Bad points The beds are like sleeping on concrete We were supposed to get pool towels but there wasn't any, after chasing for a few days, they arrived. The furniture isn't moved when it comes to cleaning, we moved the sofa around so we could look out the doors and you could have had a meal off the floor with what was under there. You can't check in till 3pm but have to be out by 10am, and this is after you have had breakfast, got yourselves ready, packed up and cleaned the entire van. This is almost impossible. If you have to clean it, what do the staff actually do during these hours, it would appear only make the beds!! Overall, I would recommend the site for people with young families, I would say you would have an excellent time but if you are all adults, look for a different parc.

Fantastic Family Holiday

Avaliou em 13 de junho de 2022

This was our first campsite experience as a family of 5 (children aged 4, 8 and 10). We will definitely return and would highly recommend. Just a sample of some of the impressive elements included: - the fantastic indoor pool (essential in Brittany in June). - the outdoor evening entertainment at the weekend. - the selection of affordable activities for all ages...pedalo, range of zip lining routes, pony riding, crazy golf, one hour of tennis cost €6 for example. - the picturesque location and all within proximity of nearby towns and services. Carrefour and Lidl are within a 10 min drive. Mont St Michel is well worth travelling the short 40 min drive to visit. - the novelty of an on-site circus which the children really enjoyed. - a generally well stocked on-site Spar with friendly helpful staff. Areas for improvement include: - the app to book activities didn't work for us. - no gluten free options in the restaurants or the Spar on site which was a requirement in our case. - the linen and bedding in general was worn and is definitely in need of replacement. Towels were fine. - Service in the club house was inconsistent but we still enjoyed a decent meal in beautiful settings. - it would be worth considering how best to locate and manage additional accessible bin areas (general, recycling, compost and glass) for residents. - suggest future pool maintenance works are done outside of pool opening hours. Not ideal to be chasing your locker as several workmen are wheeling it away. Special thanks to Eurocamp staff (Jenny and colleagues) for assisting with locating family adjacent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Eurocamp Perfect Break

We visited Des Ormes Resort with Eurocamp and the whole experience was excellent. Easy booking via eurocamp website with great offers, all requested extras for our 1 year old were provided. The check in process was simple. We arrived a couple of hours early and were given a wristband to explore the resort while our accommodation was prepared. There was a broken chair from the previous guests and they replaced this while we waited. Checked in at 3pm as planned and the "Classic" accommodation was perfect, clean and tidy with everything you could need. Travel cot, high chair, all kitchen equipment, microwave, oven, hob, mop, sweeping brush etc. The pools were amazing. The indoor pool actually has an outdoor area. It has slides, wave pool, rapids, toddler pool. Changing rooms are clean and tidy. The restaurants are great pizza place La Madeline is lovely. You will only get food between 12 and 2.30pm and 6.45 to 9pm in this region. We hired bikes from Holland Bikes to explore the region and camp. Cost around €20 for a half day with 2 bikes and baby seat and all safety equipment. Eurocamp staff checked on us after check in, during the stay and at the end without being overbearing. They were all very helpful with local information and guidance. We will 100% rebook and use eurocamp for our travel too. The journey from Cherbourg is 2hrs. Mont st Michel is 40 minutes drive. Excellent resort regardless which accommodation you choose. There is a Spar on site selling fresh bread, vegetables, fresh alcohol etc Highly recommended
