Lobby wonder set up and the room as well. Enjoyed the stay. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. And will definitely book it again in the future. Love how the breakfast is set up and being able to get warm breakfast.

Poor Management

I wanted to like this place and be a repeat customer but I cannot after 2 tries to attend here. The rooms are clean-ish…toilets and plumbing are dated. The AC and heat works well. The problem lies with the management and daily staff following “the rules” and how that permeates the customer experience. On my latest trip I had a series of important, filmed call that we are using for a national work conference. I needed a quiet room to do this and this hotel seemed ideal. My last filming required a late check out which I called down for and asked if was OK. The first day the front desk said “NO problem but it will cost you 69 dollars.” To which I agreed and say I was leaving at the agreed time “sharp.” The next day I confirmed the time, debated with the front desk if I could stay a couple hours longer. When they said I needed to pay a full day more I said “please leave my check out then for X time, sharp.” On to calls and filming. 15 minutes before the agreed departure time my filming had to stop because the hotel room rang. I unplugged this unnecessary distraction and had to ask the entire team on the call to stop and re-take. 5 minutes later (during filming) someone BANGED (not tapped) on the door. Repeatedly. It was still 10 minutes before agreed “sharp” time of exit and I was FILMING. They even tried to enter the room as if I was some sort of sinner. It was rude, unnecessary and I left exactly at the top of the hour without a minute to spare in spite of this RUDE, poorly managed chaos. I only can hope that last take held since it took 5 takes due to the hotel management. I was on to 6 more hours of calls so immediately dialed in to my next call as I was leaving the room. I naturally expected my app to reflect the agreed upon price for leaving when I promised. When I saw I could not I called the hotel later that evening after 6 more hours of a 16 hour workday. The front desk clerk said she saw me leave at three and could not check me out because her manager “told her not to.” This is not a hotel that cares about the customer experience. I had a similar experience the first time but it was minor compared to this. I will say if they have to bang and call incessantly on doors before an agreed time of departure and constantly want a little more money out of the pockets of quiet, hardworking guests…they have a lot of problems. They really need to take a hard look at who they are concerned about and what todays customer wants. I won’t be back and I travel more than 50 times a year.

STAY AWAY !! Room infested with BED BUGS

Our rv needed to be worked on in Decatur indiana , emptied it out into our room and after a few nights we were bitten by bed bugs , eco lab came in and showed us the urine stain mattress and the bugs coming out of the mattress. Had to wash all our clothes, throw out dog beds , shoes, boots. We’re not given any type of reimbursement for 1225.00 worth of items and doctors visit, shots , meds due to the amount of bites on us. Nasty room , moved us to another room that was covered with dog hair and trash around the nite stands . Moved out the next day . Management is worthless , hallways smell terrible as do the rooms .

Years ago, I wrote about this hotel, calling it a "home away from home" for me when I visit the places where I grew up, every so often, but I live abroad. Since I became ill, and since Covid19, this visit got postponed for a few years. This time the welcome was not very friendly. We had missed our flight the evening before our arrival, and therefore we risked getting our entire reservation cancelled. Now that I know this, I will make sure to inform the hotel if this happens again. It was one of those times when the airline kept updating us with delays, until at 10 p.m. they totally cancelled the flight from Minneapolis. Lucky for us, our son did make it to Fort Wayne that evening, and he informed the hotel that we would not be arriving that night. But it still was a problem getting this straightened out. Also, I know that hotels don't always clean rooms as in the past, but we had to fight to get our room cleaned on the 4th day(!). We were met with a nasty reaction to our request for a room cleaning. I won't go into details, but this should never have happened.

Important businesses trip. Excellent customers service. Morning breakfast was really really good. Clean, on time, good variety and excellent service. Clean property, good breakfast (though did have to ask coffee to be made 2 times in the same morning). Missed the happy hour time which sounds like a great time (free food and adult drinks). Pool is indoor/outdoor (didn't get chance to use). RIGHT off the highway so easy to access.
