maybe not the best room but the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MR GIGI!!!!!
i needed to stop over somewhere near to Fiumicino on my way back from a trip to america and found this little hotel on tripadvisor - the reviews about the place seemed ok and so i booked a room that was clean, well kept and very warm considering the cold weather outside, the rooms are split into two categories, executive or business rooms which are totally refurbished and standard rooms that are a little "tired" but do the job if you and not looking for high class accommodation but a nice big comfy bed, clean sheets and a very clean bathroom - MR GIGI, the lovely owner and manager was charming and made sure that i had my dietry needs looked after at breakfast which was included in the price - he was so lovely to talk to and really interested in where we came from and how we were travelling, he is a great manager and cares about his customers, i am sure that if we had stayed for more time we would have become friends as that is how he treats you, like an old friend not just someone that checks in and checks out - i can quite safely say that i could not have asked for more for the price that we paid and could not have aspired to a better host - thanks Gigi, you really deserve this review and in accord with most of the other reviews i could not have expected any less than the attention you gave us. Thank you from Rita and Gennaro, Avellino.
Like a home stay - the owner makes the place
The owner is just lovely. Worm and personal treatment. A great bonus is this little restaurant in the same building. Food is very good and abundant. Though, if one desires something fancier and busier for change there is 700m away a fancy restoran. The bus top for Rome is 1km away. For the price and quality ratio it is a fine place to choose!
Molto buono hotel!! e Luigi e une persone incredible
The hotel is in a good position, outside the center, it have cheap prices and you get a really good atention of all the workers in there. The chef food is amazing and you are always well treated by everyone.
A Firey Start to Our European Holiday
Like all holidays with the old man, you never quite know where you'll be resting your head at night-he's the consummate bargain traveler, who has his own system of star ratings we haven't quite figured out yet. so when my sister (who always shares his view on it doesn't matter where you plop you head) booked this hotel under strict parameters-certain price per night, free parking, free breakfast, outside of Rome- we were worried for several reasons, and our trepidation was well warranted. On our second night there, we were awakened by guests shouting in Italian and the smell of smoke. There were no smoke alarms, no sprinkler system, or any interaction between the staff and guests. We were on our own. We stood on our balcony watching the smoke billow out of the downstairs area wondering if we should stay in our rooms and wait for help or try to get outside. We decided to evacuate. The hallways were dark and filled with toxic smoke. Thankfully, a member of our party reminded us to wet towels to place over our nose and mouth. We used our hands as guides and walked down three flights of stairs, not knowing where the steps were or what we would find as we carefully made our way down the stairs. Once outside, we gathered together realizing how lucky we were. Our clothes and faces were covered with black soot. Not once did any one from the hotel come over and ask us if we were okay. I learned some valuable lessons-make sure your hotel has smoke alarms and you can converse at the most rudimentary level with the hotel owners or staff (this goes both ways). Although we were not really happy with the hotel prior to the fire, I had intended to give them a reasonable review, saying with some work, it could have some 'charm'. The breakfast was lukewarm coffee, packaged toast and a few croissants. Our room had a trail of mold from one end of the bathroom to the other. Yet someone who worked there (we hadn't a clue who they were) brought over some wine and homemade bread while we sat in the barren reception area and was very pleasant, though our Italian was limited and his English was too. But the fire and the lack of safety precautions negated everything. It set the trajectory for the remainder of our trip- and imagine our surprise when we drove to Rome's airport only to find out that earlier in the morning, a fire had closed one out of three terminals which stranded us in Rome for an extra three days.
RUN WHILE YOU CAN
My family and I stayed at Hotel Bottaccio last week. The accommodations were poor at best. There was mold on the ceilings. The breakfast was meager and served well after the stated time. To their credit the staff (at least on our first night) tried to be friendly and helpful - despite the language barrier. However on our second night there was a fire in the hotel at 3:30 in the morning. Had we not heard the screams from other guests we could have easily died from smoke inhalation. There was no fire alarm. No smoke alarm. No member of the staff tried to warn us of the fire. The smoke and soot were so thick that we couldn't see as we tried to make it outside from the 3rd floor. The lights in the stairwell didn't work. No one from the hotel was around to give us guidance. While the fire appears to have been small in nature the soot and smoke went through out the building - ruining many of our clothes. It was an absolutely horrifying event that was handled completely incompetently by the staff.
