One of the best in the area

One of the best places to stay in the area. It's just outside of town, and convenient to Shenandoah National Park. We stayed here deliberately as we loved the convenience of the Houllihan's attached. Staff and check in was excellent. Rooms well sized and we thought the bathroom was particularly well laid out. Golf course just behind. Gas station and other restaurants and stores are nearby. Good place to stay, and we'd stay here again.

We spent one night here and were really impressed with the friendly staff and cleanliness of the hotel and room. It's nice to walk down the halls and go into your room without smelling harsh or perfumed cleaning product smells. Very pleased with the stay and will definitely stay again the next time we are traveling in the area.

I was originally in Winchester for business, but changed plans and ended up here for the golf. WOW, what an absolute gem! Get a corner suite facing the golf course, you will not be disappointed. The staff was great, Lydia at the Front Desk and Nicki at Houlihan's were very friendly and welcoming. The meatloaf was recommended and did not disappoint! The golf was fantastic. I'm a low handicap golfer and this course was challenging (144 slope from tips). What a treat! Everyone at the course was great, and the views are simply amazing. I have to say, this was a wonderful experience - from tee, to green, to food, to bed. I would not hesitate to recommend!

We did not expect the level of luxury that this hotel offered. The room was spacious and quite nice. They went the extra mile at the attached restaurant in getting our breakfast takeout. It is also located a bit north of the "entrance chaos" in Front Royal.
This hotel is NOT taking COVID seriously enough -- STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

My true bottom line about this hotel is that it is NOT doing what it should be doing in order to keep its guests safe from COVID-19 during this time of a national pandemic. To the proprietors of this particular Holiday Inn hotel and to the franchise/chain in general, I simply say SHAME ON YOU!
During our stay, we encountered five separate employees of the hotel. Only one of them (the person who was working the front desk at the time of our check-out) was wearing a face mask to protect herself and hotel guests. 1 out of 5 is UNACCEPTABLE. The man who was at the front desk at the time of check-in wore his mask as a chin strap. When we came downstairs an hour or so later, a different person was at the front desk and, again, wore the mask as a chin strap instead of as a facial covering. We also crossed paths with one person from housekeeping (mask worn around her neck) and one seemingly from maintenance (walking around the hotel floor with her mask off, until she saw us wearing ours, at which time she pulled hers up).
Additionally, the hotel is NOT requiring guests to wear masks inside of the common areas of the hotel. As a result, a few did (perhaps 1/3) and most (about 2/3) did not do so. This lack of enforcement of proper safety measures undoes the signage about maintaining proper social distancing and the presence of the hand sanitizers that the hotel, to its credit, has installed.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Check-in/out were easy and fast.
