Perfect Stopover with a great room at a reasonable price

Very clean property with an efficient and friendly staff. Pool and Fitness equipment were both very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was excellent, bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Had a great night's sleep.

This was an overall excellent experience. I will stay here every time I go through. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. There is also workout equipment, pool and hot tub for use.

The staff were nice and accommodating. Lisa was 100% the best staff member. She made the stay so much better. Will stay here again whenever we visit Gillette again. Loved the room and the breakfast options were amazing.

One of the stand-out places we stayed on our entire month-long road trip

This was the 15th night of our epic road trip across Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Montana. On the way to Gillette from Greybull we enjoyed a beautiful red rock country along Hwy 16, visited the Wigwam (Fish) Rearing Station along Tensleep Creek, and birded the Bud Love Big Game Winter Range after a picnic lunch in the Buffalo city park. We stayed in La Quita properties in the Pacific Northwest back in the day, including the one in Walla Walla WA made famous by Mike Birbiglia in Sleepwalk with Me where he sleep-jumped through the closed window of his second-story hotel room. But that was all before La Quinta was acquired in 2005 by Blackstone Group, then by Wyndham Hotels in 2018. So we didn't really know what to expect of the La Quinta in Gillette other than what other travelers said in their rarely-dependable reviews. As it turned out, though, this was one of the stand-out places we stayed on our entire trip. Both the common areas and our guest room were all you'd want them to be: clean, well-maintained, quiet, comfortable, and fully equipped for a good night's sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful. The convenient and clean laundry room on our floor let us catch up with on-the-road housekeeping needs. Even the shower water pressure was decent. Also nice was the fact the location was close to a Walmart and Albertson's and several eateries, but far enough from the interstate to be free of truck noise. At $130 all-in for the night, and in the context of what it now costs to stay in this kind of property, we were very pleased all around. In these days when many chains are demanding cancellation 2 full days in advance, we especially appreciated their 6pm day of arrival cancel policy. You just never know what's going to happen on the road, yeah? And who needs the added stress of being on some hotel's arbitrary BS schedule?

Very nice hotel. We stayed overnight on a trip from Yellowstone to Mt. Rushmore. We pretty much just stayed for one night and didn't have much interaction with the staff but I'm sure they were fine. Breakfast wasn't great but i haven't had a good hotel breakfast since COVID.
