Time for Myrtle to shine

It was wonderful in every way - comfortable, cosy, well appointed and well located. Excellent in every single way. Like a piece of perfectly cooked steak. Couldn’t have recommended more. Then the wind began and Moaning Myrtle began howling through the walls, the entire apartment building was filled with the moans of those living within the walls. Seriously - great hotel - unless windy. If windy, bring earplugs and a strong heart.

Clean Good Location

Very comfortable clean central and reasonably priced. Few bits of furniture could be updated but otherwise very good. Short walk to cafes and restaurants and down the hill to the harbour and green space along the water. Fully self contained.

Maintenance and complaint handling are terrible

Air conditioner dripped water and was unusable. They don’t take complaints seriously and blame the customer instead of dealing with the issue. Don’t stay here. Also signage to pool is terrible, easy to get locked out thinking you are going to the pool.

Smelly, dirty and no facilites dont stay here

This hotel is very tired and run down. The rooms are dirty and have definitely seen better days. The cleaners must not be very good at all as there was dust everywhere. The room only had 3 plates so when we sat down to dinner in our apartment my husband had to have his in a bowl. We went down to the pool which was the only reason we chose this hotel and we had to sit on the floor as there were no chairs in the pool area. When we asked why we were told that kids had been jumping the fence and destroying them. We asked if they could put some there in the afternoon as we had guests coming but they didn't do so. The pool also had plant pots around it with dead plants what is the point of that. The toilets were also locked from the inside which was very annoying. But by far the worst was the smell the whole of our floor smelt like rotten rubbish as the rubbish chutes cant of been emptied and in the heat it was just going off. The smell was absolutely putrid. Also in the basement where our car was parked there were piles of rubbish just dumped next to the lift. Definitely a fire and health hazard.

Good location and large apartments

Have stayed here several times on business - usually a week at a time - although this is my last. Whilst the apartments are modern, spacious, well furnished, and well located they leave a bit to be desired wrt cleanliness and maintenance. Stained bedding has been a regular for the last couple of stays, which could be addressed with washing. floors need a good clean (this area does have a bit of coal dust to deal with) although it's more than that. Bathrooms are a hit and miss affairs Kitchens are Well fitted out, although Grubby kitchen appliances probably just need a regular wipe over. There's a very basic daily service. The overall complex facilities are great, as are the views from the large balconies, location is quiet and staff are friendly. There's a lot to like, but unless maintenance and cleaning pick up then it's not for me anymore.
