I agree with previous reviews! This hotel is a gem and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Very clean, attentive staff and the nicest waitresses ( hats off to Chelsea and Meghan). If that isn"t enough to convince you the meals were fantastic! Room had a view of the ocean and walkable Gloucester is fun to visit.
Fantastic time
If you’re looking for a nice trip within the Massachusetts borders, head to downtown Gloucester to the Beauport Hotel. The hotel (especially now for the holidays) is gorgeous and decorated for the season beautifully. The service is outstanding from the moment you arrive. The bellhops are attentive and courteous. The check-in staff merely enhances the first impression even more. The lobby is welcoming and cozy with plenty of places to enjoy conversations with friends. The food is delicious and fresh as can be. The bar is very nice with a warm fireplace at one end combined with a full panoramic view of the ocean. Our room was oversized (as was the bathroom) and was perfectly appointed as well as immaculate. A comfortable bed with nice relaxing soft back chairs rounded out perfect accommodations. Downtown Gloucester has PLENTY to do with all kinds of restaurants. Local vendor retail shops showcase many of the areas talents and creativity. You will love the hotel and you’ll be just as impressed with the area culture. Treat yourself to a north shore get away. The Beauport Hotel will truly become a yearly visit on your inside Massachusetts excursion list. Thank you Beauport Hotel for a wonderful visit. You should be very proud of your first class facility.
I want to live here.
Don't take my word for it, go visit! Of the hundreds of hotels i've stayed in this one is in the top 10, for all things you would expect from a high end establishment. Cleanliness, knowledgeable and friendly staff, location, food, drinks, views etc....... We were greeted at the door and directed up to the lobby and were checked in by Paris, who was professional and welcoming. Our room had a partial ocean view so we could look out and see the bay, the room itself was very nicely appointed and comfortable with appropriate nautical themes throughout, they had also left a nice personalized note on the bed with some delicious welcome chocolates! Dinner on Friday was at the hotel, we managed to get a seat near one of the fires which was perfect, and settled in for dinner. We had been here for a day trip a month or so ago and were blown away by the quality of the food, i was hoping for the same again and wasn't disappointed. I'm still dreaming of the haddock Beauport, by far one of the best seafood dishes i've ever had, flaky white haddock served atop either mashed squash or sweet potato (seasonal) on top of a lemon herb butter sauce. Incredible. We found out the person responsible for this amazing creation was the chef, Rodney, we asked if we could thank him personally and he stopped by so we could, Rodney should do cooking classes, i'd sign up tomorrow. Saturday we sat outside on a unseasonably warm day for November and had several apps from the bar, every single one of the apps we tried was first class, artisan cheeses, calamari, lobster bisque, the bisque was so good we had to order more! Drinks and service was first class outside, Jay was our guy out there and did a fantastic job. Sunday we went to the restaurant again for brunch, once again, absolutely first class food, the best corned beef hash i've ever seen and was devoured by the group, i went with the lobster benedict and again, perfect. We loved it so much at check out we booked another weekend in a few weeks time!
Great place for a weekend getaway
We we're thrilled to have found this gem of a property for our weekend getaway to Gloucester! Because of COVID and travel restrictions, our places to go for our anniversary were limited, but Beauport did not disappoint in the slightest. The staff is so attentive and friendly, they made us feel super welcomed and extra special during our stay. The hotel itself is so beautifully decorated and has been (what I assume) recently updated, I'm not sure if it was recently built but the place felt brand new. My husband kept noting how nice everything looked with the architecture, finishes and décor. They really knocked the New England nautical theme out of the park. We stayed in a beautiful king suite that included a fireplace. The room was huge and had great high ceilings. It was classified as "city view" which I was worried about, but it didn't really face the city, rather a few buildings/houses and you could see the water, which was nice. The rooms were fairly quite, you couldn't really hear much outside of the room. Our room felt super private. I noticed other rooms that had a balcony ocean view overlooked the outdoor seating area of the on-site restaurant. I could imagine this being pretty noisy at night. During our stay, we indulged in a massage at the onsite spa (which was conveniently right across the hall from our room). Though a little on the pricey side, it was excellent. The staff was super accommodating and very professional. This has to be booked in advance I believe but the booking process was very simple over the phone or through email. The hotel also has a restaurant on site which is nice especially in these times. I think they require reservations for dinner, but for breakfast we were able to walk right in (at 7:30 am). They have indoor and outdoor seating, which we took advantage of with the nice weather. They provide heaters outside if you opt for that, don't pass it up, the view is so nice. The food itself isn't anything spectacular, but the atmosphere is great. Due to all of the COVID restrictions, they do offer in-room dining which we took advantage of one morning for breakfast. The food came fairly quickly and was nicely presented. Overall our stay was great! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and are looking forward to future stays!
