GREAT PLACE TO STAY
We Stayed at the Sleep Inn @ 5208 Page Rd Durham NC. For the price of $60.00 plus taxes & Fees it was a VERY NICE HOTEL. It was very CLEAN & COMFORTABLE. The Beds were COMFORTABLE. The room had the standard Amenities of a refrigerator, microwave , safe, ironing board. Iron, & coffee maker. Would DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN. The Front Desk Lady was Nice & they had a Grab & go Breakfast which consisted of Yogurt, Granola Bar, cream cheese or Bear claw Danish, oranges, juices & coffee. They did have a couple of tables down so you could Eat then leave like we had to do. Nice Hotel Overall. :)
Good Value Airport/Interstate Location
This is a very old Sleep Inn that has been remodeled. Small king room with armoire instead of a closet. Shower that looks like a space capsule. Sink outside of toilet. Very basic shower amenities.Limited area for luggage. Micro, fridge, coffe maker and flat screen TV. Laundry room closed. Because of covid a very limited breakfast. Think coffee, one flavor yogurt, apples and sweet rolls. No juice or milk. Airport van not running. Located in a somewhat sketchy industrial/commercial area. Two restaurants and gas station within walking distance. Pets accepted for $20 surcharge. The price is right for the area.
Not bad but....
First of all, for the price of $59 bucks, this is not a bad place to stay at all. It is a bit weird to get to, but for the price, not bad. Antonio was a bright spot, as he noticed I had booked a smoking room and he changed that asap after asking me did I intend to book that room. That was my mistake, but he caught it. Kudo's to him for asking. Covid time period during our travels, so continental breakfast was just terrible. We had stayed in other locations and they had plenty to offer as grab and go, but this place was terrible. Remember, $59 bucks. We left and drove to a Cracker Barrel 10 miles down the road. The room itself is okay, I just don't like the sink out in the bedroom area and the toilet and shower in a separate area. I get up earlier than my wife, so I couldn't use the sink because the light would have woken her up, in addition to my making noise just a few feet from the bed. Poor design bottom line.
Needs some TLC
I debated between two and three stars, and decided on three since the hotel was clean. If you’re a heavy sleeper, just need a place to sleep, and don’t care about the small annoyances mentioned in the cons, then this place is adequate. I’ve stayed at other Sleep Inns that were much much nicer. Pros: 1. Water pressure - amazing 2. Hot water very quickly reached 3. Clean Cons: 1. Shower door didn’t close correctly, so water leaked all over the bathroom floor 2. Towel rack barely hanging on wall on one side 3. No lock on bathroom (pocket) door 4. Thin walls (heard quite a bit from next room and guests in the hallway) 5. Breakfast consisted of small muffins, yogurt, apples, coffee and juice. (Maybe it’s limited due to COVID?) 6. Bathroom vent didn’t work 7. Toilet paper holder nearly falling off wall
Please. Just.. Don't
Let's see.. Where to start? My check in with Antonio was great. He was always friendly, personable and helpful. That was the perk of my stay. I was expecting this hotel to be at least clean. No. I was coughing the whole time I was there. Between the mold, smoke, parking in the boonies and clothes that were not mine that I discovered on the last day, this is not acceptable. I ended up getting this hotel, when before I had stayed at this hotel some years ago. It was good then. Now, I wouldn't grant my worst enemy a stay here.
