A PIGSTY! UNA POCILGA!

The reserved room was not available when we arrived so they did what they should and upgraded us to the master suite - a USD 250-300 room (they did it but after trying to charge additional charges!).
We went with our 2 kids and they simply left their mattress in the room and left sheets on it. Can you believe it?
Looks like it was invested some money remodelling some stuff and they thought they could call "boutique" - it is an offense to the boutique level!
Do you know when you feel disgusted at everything? Dirty bedding, bad towels, disgusting bathroom from poorly cleaned, dirty room.
A real pigsty! Never again!!!
Friendly, Helpful Staff - Variety of Room Sizes

Located in a quiet neighborhood close to several restaurants. Smaller rooms are very small. Rooms 6 and 7, located at front of the property are considerably larger with a choice of king size of two queens. Missing a few amenities that are often included elsewhere such as a shower cap, a box of tissues and luggage racks (although when we asked for one, they delivered two to our room. If you wish to watch English language TV you will be disappointed as all the channels are broadcast in Spanish. Acceptable breakfast cooked to order in included. The coffee was great. Small two car garage is available on a first come first served basis.

You could not find friendlier staff!
This is a small hotel, but huge when it comes to customer service, they will make you feel right at home; some of the rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable, if you carry a bunch of toiletries and grooming things, make sure you request a bigger room. There is a big plaza a couple of blocks away with many bars and restaurants to choose from.
Good alternative to more commercial hotels

I went on a last minute trip to Guadalajara and there was none of my usual hotels available so I had to look for other options.
I found the alborata hotel and decided to try it. It is conveniently located near the city main streets.
The place is definitely much smaller than what I was used to but I was pleasantly surprised. The backyard is interesting even though not maximized in terms of functionality but definitely a quiet place where I spent time working.
The staff was friendly and could function in English.
A pleasant surprise was the restaurant...even though extremely small they cook your meal on order just like home. It turned out that the food was excellent and inexpensive.
There are several wifi networks... Make sure you get them all because some are spotty and unreliable.
Main drawback was lack of soundproofing. There is absolutely no soundproofing. So when there is a sound you will hear it wherever you are. On the plus side, it is a small hotel... So at some point people go to bed and noise stops...

I just spent two nights at Alborata Hotel Boutique and I was so impressed by their costumer centrality. From the call I made to review my reservation, to the moment we left the place, if there is one thing I´ll recognize is that they are doing a very good job in making sure you feel like they are happy to help you, everyone´s attitude was perfect, always with a smile and helping in whatever you need. If you are early, they might even let you choose your room.
Second, but as important as the great attitude, wow what a great bed! Yes, bathrooms can be a little small but it won´t matter once you feel that bed, and the ambiance is really cozy, lovely designed.
Now, even if I had a really good sleep and a very nice experience with everyone working there, I must be honest, there is something the place should review and that is the expectation vs reality in three matters:
1.- No cleaning and bed making included - When I booked the place, the add said cleaning and parking lot included, well, not quite. Because it was only two nights, they said that cleaning the room and making the bed was not included, just changing towels (which I usually don´t ask for, but because the bathroom is small, towels didn´t dry), and sadly when I came back from dinner the first night, my we had to go and ask for dry towels ourselves. For the cost of the night, this should definitely be included.
2.- Parking spaces are not enough for all rooms - we were lucky and other guest during those days had no car, so our car did stayed in, but that was because of the other guests not having a car.
3.- Restaurant service - Because they are new, they do not have an established restaurant, so they only serve breakfast, which for the cost I believe it was really good (price does not include drinks), but you will have to go out for other meals.
Do I recommend this boutique hotel? definitely!! Those three points aren´t really so bad, it would be better to be open about it in the hotel´s information so you know what to really expect, but the overall experience was great: lovely place, very clean, nice bathroom treats,tv and air conditioning functioning just fine, GREAT bed :)
