Can’t believe this is a Holiday Inn
This place is a disaster. They mislead me and said that it was downtown. It is like a motel from the 70’s! Stay away! I travel extensively and I think this is the most disappointing I’ve been. Not sure if Holiday Inn have forgotten this location but they need to do a review ASAP!
A hotel chain that's stuck in another era...
The bed's were comfortable. That's the full extent of any positive feedback I can offer. As a chain, the hotel is in need of a major overhaul --mostly with regard to its values and exceptionally poor level of environmental consciousness and stewardship. Can you believe that there's a machine in the hallway that continually sprays a chemical scent into the entranceway and dining area, apparently, in order to mask any food-related smells coming from the kitchen area. When I asked a staff person about it, she simply replied: "Isn't it lovely!" She proceeded to tell me how much she enjoys standing under the dispenser. I can't breathe for the level of toxicity and she feels marvellous. If polarization was considered the defining theme of the last decade, here's your example. The website refers to a buffet. I had to call to see if it was a hot buffet, as opposed to the more usual continental. But I wouldn't eat the food if you paid me. I admit, I was already offended by the use of plastic utensils and plastic cups. That's something I expect to find in the U.S. not Canada. I'd like to think that Canadian hoteliers are at least somewhat environmentally conscious. Not so and certainly not this one. They are living in a bygone era. Also, the so-called buffet was made up almost entirely of heavily processed foods. You didn't need to see the ingredients to know the food was inedible. The hotel places a very typical sign in the bathrooms asking guests to help them respect the environment. It's very ironic in view of the disposable plates, cutlery and cups in the kitchen, and even more very laughable given they only provided one hook for a lonely towel in a four-person room. The last source of frustration were the keycards. They stopped working almost every day. We kept getting locked our of our rooms and couldn't use the side-entrance to the building. When the attendant tried to produce three keycards, he had to toss 5-10 aside because he couldn't get them to activate. It was all very strange. This is a hotel that needs to get with the times. It was not a feel good experience at all.
Would not stay here again!
The staff were rude on both arrival and checkout. When we went to check out the there was no one in site with a sign saying back in five minutes. We waited almost 15 minutes for someone to show up. We had asked for an item to be placed in the freezer, Which they were actually very accommodating to help us with. However, when I went to get my freezer item in the morning the staff member at the desk told me That they don’t put stuff in the freezer, and when I insisted he told me that I needed to go get it myself. He then went and got another staff member to help me who went and found my item. This was one of the worst experiences that I have had staying in a hotel and I will not be staying here again.
Clean Rooms For A Good Price!
I made reservations at this hotel because the hotel I normally stay in during official trips was fully booked. The check in was smooth and I got a nice King Deluxe room for a good price. I enjoyed a nice bath with the dimmed red light in the bathroom - It was quite relaxing. The access key pad at the north end of the corridor needs to be fixed however. I had trouble getting in from that door. The breakfast was simple and delicious
Clean comfortable rooms
Good hotel,,Beds comfortable. Hotel wasn't far from our basketball event. Shopping area only 5-10 minutes from this location. Has an indoor pool but we did not have time to try it out as well as a fitness area.
