Rude & Disinterested
We spent two nights at this hotel and I didn’t enjoy either of them. The front desk staff were rude and made no effort to help us in English. I do not go to a foreign country and expect everyone to speak the same language as me, but when I check in to a hotel, I do expect some basics and perhaps even a smile, which I did not get. One party in our group were unable to get out of their room due to a broken/malfunctioning lock and when they phoned reception, they were hung up on. I was also hung up on when I phoned to enquire after the wifi password (please note - they do not have wifi), I could have lived with all of this, but the carpets were dirty, people smoked in the corridors and only one lift was working for the 3 days. They also hadn’t returned our laundry after several enquires on our behalf about it being late, and at midnight my husband was taken to the laundry so that he could pay for their release. The one bright light was the doorman, who when our group walked to a nearby shopping centre, he came after us on his motorbike to ensure that we were all ok and handed us cards from the hotel with the address, to ensure that taxi drivers would bring us back home.
A Nightmare
Great impression when you enter this hotel and it is downhill from there . No one speaks or understands English , a certain female staff member in the lobby bar is the rudest person you will meet in China , the rooms are old and smelly and they have no concept of customer service . I recommend that you you give this hotel a big miss . Unfortunately we were on a tour with Panda Tours / Travel Asia and had no option .
Staff make this hotel terrible
The hotel is in the middle of the industrial area and no cafes nearby. The atm didn't work and the staff really treat you poorly. They snatch items from you if you are not sitting in the correct area. We were not allowed to take coffee across an imaginary line to sit elsewhere and the same with an ice bucket. We were given plastic bags to keep our wine and ice in. Terrible hotel. Breakfast was ordinary too. The restaurant ruined all meals and when we complained about meat being undercooked, they cut that part off and re served it.
Average to Good
Stayed as part of organised tour of 84 Australians. Rooms were a surprise, ours was more swiss chalet style which was not expected. Wood panels with skylight windows. Clean and beds as comfy as possible in China. Nice size room and very adequate modern bathroom. Due to location, as was a little isolated, we ate in house and ran into a problem in the dinning room. Menu in room offered lots of choices, but dining room itself offered 6 options which we chose off the menu via the pictures. There was a lot of confusion and whilst some people got what they ordered lots didn't and they ran out of food options other than rice. None of the wait staff spoke any English and a poor staff member, Jennifer, with very limited English tried to sort things out, and did a good job at that. I had the spag bol, which was always going to have a question mark against it, but compared to some other food, was great. Was only in for one night. Seems to be internal construction happening. Some people had marvelous rooms, with views others had lots of mould and less than average.
Nothing Special
I stayed here for one night while I was touring in the region. Our room was decent and I was happy that my bed had a good firm mattress. I was initially thrilled that our ensuite bathroom had a bath as well as a shower. The weather was quite cold and after a long day of touring, I was really looking forward to having a hot bath. Unfortunately, when I went to take one, only cold water came out. I didn't even bother contacting the front desk about it since, as other reviewers have mentioned, no one in the hotel spoke any English. As for breakfast, the buffet breakfast was okay, but nothing special.
