Cozy loft room good for solo traveller

Avaliou em 26 de junho de 2019

Stayed over at The Bedroom in Hatyai for the second time. Got this tiny cozy loft room where your single bed is built on a loft above your living space. Steps up the bed a little steep but I would say it is quite comfortable for a solo traveller. The hotel does not have any lift so be prepared to take the stairs. But for just about $12 a night for a room with attached bath, nothing much to complain about.

Property force to pay extra payment or get out

Avaliou em 14 de dezembro de 2018

We have book a room for 2 by booking.com And we have see the picture of room was duplex. But the most important thing they didn’t show in any online hotel website . That is the bed on 2nd floor of duplex it’s was single bed . When we arrive the hotel check in, the staff request us to add extra bed on this booking . When we ask why should we add? Because we book for 2person , the staff explain that the bed is single bed . If I wanna stay this room , I must pay for extra bed payment or cancel the booking . This happen on midnight when we check in , it was so sad and tired to looking for another hotel .

I reallllllly like the place, bedroom itself (including toilet, shower, beds, space - are all good!), even the area is calm. but the customer service is quite bad - they are not friendly. & quite sad because they have no iron

disappointed

I returned to Hat Yai after approximately 12 months and had been booked into this hotel by a relative who had been given very favorable reports Unfortunately these reports were well off the mark and i definitely will NOT be staying there again or recommending it to anyone unless they have a masochistic streak. On arriving at the hotel i was impressed by its external appearance but this proved to be misleading. The staff were well spoken and attentive but asked me for a 300baht key deposit, which i must say i found a little unusual for a hotel, where the two night stay had already been paid as part of a package deal with AirAsia. Upon entering the room the first thing that was noticeable was a strong musty smell, which gave the impression that the room had been unused for a long period and also not cleaned properly. the latter point proved to be correct as there were large amounts of dust and an unidentifiable grunge in the metal tracking supporting the bathroom walls. The bathroom is at the rear of the room and beneath a loft style bed which is accessed by an open wooden stair with no hand rail. I'm guessing that if you were a little unstable on your feet the act of climbing this stair would be rather difficult. The " bed " for a want of a better description was a large mattress, which in this case was banana shaped, either through use or a fitted sheet of the wrong dimensions. This sheet, although appearing to be clean did contain some staining. The platform bed has safety rails on both sides to prevent you falling six feet to the floor if you happened to roll over in your sleep. The room has plenty of power points and reasonable lighting but the furnishing left much to be desired The area under the loft has a flat screen tv mounted on one wall, which when i looked behind the mounting showed a number of cobwebs which seemed to have been abandoned by their makers. Opposite the tv was a couch of roughly 2' 6" in length and possibly 12" wide, this was also constructed with a 90 degree angle between the seat and the backrest making it rather uncomfortable for me to use. The choice of viewing was around 10 cable channels, ALL of which were in Thai. The backrest of the typist style chair at the desk was also coming apart On entering the bathroom i discovered that the glass shelf over the hand basin was missing, this was found a short while later safely stored in the smallish wardrobe which is also under the loft. The " free " toiletries consisted of two very small bottles of, i'm guessing, generic body wash and generic shampoo. There was a single bath towel and a single bath mat but no bath only a shower in what is essentially a wet room. The air conditioning was ok as the room was not large and again when run emitted a stale odor The lights could only be turned off from switches near the room door, which meant that the stairs to the platform had to be negotiated in the dark, which could be difficult for some. As i said earlier the bed has safety rails which unfortunately are made from flat steel bars with rather sharp edges, i have a couple of new scars thanks to the edges. When it comes to food and drink you have to either cook in the communal kitchen or go out and although there are many restaurants open during the day most seem to be closed by 10pm. The room did NOT have a fridge and because of single occupancy only one bottled water was given each day , there are also no tea or coffee making facilities in the room The hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from both Central and Odean shopping centres Of course you can get there by taxi or tuk tuk if walking isnt your thing. Suwanawong Wat is about 5 minutes walk and the closest point of interest. I would say that this hotel would be acceptable to people on a VERY tight budget or those backpacking, a past time that i must admit i have passed. Unfortunately i have no pics as my cell phone gave up the ghost during my stay and has proved to be irreparable. There are many hotels in Hat Yai that are in a similar price range to this one and i would advise that you use those
