Small, convenient and great service
Small hotel with good location - walk to the shrine and through beautiful Momijidani Park to the ropeway. The outdoor footbath is also a cafe, so you can enjoy a drink while soothing your feet after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Functional onsen and a restaurant as well. Staff was very helpful with our onward reservations, and brought us to the ferry pier before the scheduled time so we could catch an early ferry. Good value for the price.
Wonderful place to visit
This hotel is excellent! The Onsen, foot bath, breakfast and customer service was over the top. My family thought this was the best hotel we stayed in while in Japan. There is a bit of an uphill walk so you may want to call the hotel and they will pick you up at the ferry station. The robes, travelled packs and nightly snack were above what anyone could expect.
Great choice on Miyajima
Really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Kikunoya. We were kindly collected from the ferry terminal, and returned for free. The friendly and efficient staff showed us to our room and explained how everything worked. Our standard twin was more than adequate with nightwear and toiletries provided. Never tried the Onsen but there appeared to be a lot of guests who did. Breakfast was quite adequate and a nice touch, the only included breakfast during our trip to Japan. The Tori gate and main street such as it is are a five minute walk away and the pick up point to the Ropeway just around the corner. Dinner would be worth considering on a future stay as there was a very limited choice in the evening on the island
A charming boutique hotel on a busy tourist island
This is a small, boutique hotel offering spacious Japanese style rooms, a very good Onsen, and delicious meals when you opt for breakfast and dinner. It is quiet and peaceful here, in contrast to the many, many tourists who come daily to see the free-roaming deer, the many shops and places to eat, the Buddhist Temples and the famous “floating” Shinto Shrine. I highly recommend Hotel Kikunoya!
Very nice japanese athmosfere, with greate experience in a open onsen. In the room, they offer for fred a typical japanese wearing. Service very enjoiable. Recommended hotel if you visit miyajima. Breakfast is correct.
