Simplesmente incrível! O fim de semana do nosso casamento no Vandiver foi incrível. Da comida, a beleza e charme do local até a equipe que não perdeu qualquer detalhe, proporcionaram um dia incrível. Os quartos são muito bem feitos e tivemos um ótimo café da manhã no dia seguinte.

Perfect place to stay in historic HdG

Location, location, location. We never needed a car to visit all of the sights, eat in restaurants and enjoy Bomboy's Ice Cream and chocolate. Everyone on staff went out of they way to make our stay delightful. The Wolbert Room, in the main house, was beautiful and the bed very comfy. The shower in the bathroom was also special. And, most important for us in this time of COVID, were the many places on the property where we could eat outside or just watch the world go by from the porches and garden in the back. We will absolutely return to the Vandiver!

Beautiful Building but breakfast was lacking

We stayed in the Rodgers Room which was nice but needed dusting. We also could have used instructions on the 3 separate heaters in the rooms. We didn't realize that they were heaters until the next morning, when we woke up freezing. Be careful with the fireplace - the instructions are tricky and the flames burst spraying fireplace fuel onto the carpet. We quickly stomped out the flames on the carpet. My last criticism, and I feel bad complaining because everyone was so nice but the breakfast options were poor and only one hot meal was offered. Which neither of us would eat. Other than that it was a interesting building with beautiful stained glass windows.

Beautiful Room

We stayed in the Donahoo room, which was small but beautifully furnished. The keys and instructions were in a basket on the main porch, just as they described. We easily found our room on the second floor. The steps were a little steep and narrow, so some folks might want to consider that in picking a room. Everything in the room worked well. Breakfast was hot and good. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

This is definitely not an accommodation for a cold weather visit. We were in the main house in the Rodgers room which was quite large, essentially three rooms strung together, a bedroom, a small anteroom which included a microwave and a bathroom. In deference to rising Covid cases a "grab and go" breakfast was advertised with yogurt, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and beverages available but the morning we were there we were also offered a hot breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes. The heating system was unable to cope, in spite of the addition of a space heater in both the bedroom and bathroom. We asked the innkeeper, Brie, for help and she did what she could and even brought us hot chocolate. In spite of her ministrations we were still quite cold, even huddled under the bedclothes. We suspect we were not the only guests in this situation as we heard another couple complaining about the cold in their room when we were at breakfast.
