Bacana!

Nada muito luxuoso..... porém de um acesso bastante fácil e com funcionários bem atenciosos... Gostei também da segurança que tem o bairro e da facilidade de chegar nos lugares. Recomendo a todos !!!!!

Historic Hotel

This is a 150-year-old hotel. This is an important factor for my review. It is quaint and clean. The rustic charm isn’t lost on this traveler, plus it’s pet-friendly.The pool is out of service for repairs. The beds are moderately comfortable to extra firm (in the same room). We stayed on the ground floor and it was really noisy. Lots of loud banging and clanging (and it echoes) until after midnight. The room was lit all night due to a window and bright hall lights..and to be frank it was really bothersome. The in-house restaurant is ok. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, though most are not bi-lingual. It’s an ok place to stay, but ask NOT to be on the ground floor.

This hotel is the worst ever

Definitely needs remodeling, the indoor pool didn't have water, the room smelled terrible like moth balls, our room was a suite for 2 adults and 4 children and had only 2 towels we asked for more and they said they didn't have any more, our package included breakfast they said it included 2 free breakfast for all 6 of us for the 3 nights, walls were dirty, no heating, blankets dirty, and so on....... nasty!!!!!!!

Moderate Price With Cheapo Attitude

A lot of the rooms are tiny, some are larger with multiple beds--sort of like a dorm room. I believe the hotel caters to working people that travel. If you are being accommodated, the things that are paramount are good hygiene (clean), decent room temperatures and water that isn't going to make you sick if you drink it. Most hotels filter their water or provide purified water in Mexico. Kino Suites will provide you with one tiny bottle of water for no matter how many people are in the room and tell you from then on, you're on your own. Their Members Mark water is 500ML. CHEAPO! Your comfort temperature is totally up to them. There is no temperature control for the AC. It's either off or on. They keep the lobby very cool (cold) so there is always a bunch of people down there. Finally, the maids are noisy, chatter to each other and will constantly bother you to get out so they can clean the rooms (especially if they don't provide you with a door placard.) So, in summary, their prices are not cheap or overly expensive, but it's pretty doubtful you could call it a good value. If you like historic places, you may like this place, but the historic charm has been somewhat degraded over the years. And the wifi is very spotty or non-existent in some areas. For me that's a biggie. Finally, the hotel restaurant is on the pricey side and definitely in the very average taste category.

Historic place and pet-friendly in Hermosillo

I'm not sure why this hotel received so many negative reviews. For the price and location I don't think you will find anything comparable esp. for the central location. I stayed here for 3 days en route to San Carlos with my 2 small dogs and was very satisfied with everything. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the restaurant had decent Mexican cuisine. Perhaps there were problems with communication because English is not widely spoken here as is in most of Hermosillo. Hermosillo is NOT an American tourist destination; most of the tourists at the hotel were Mexican. I speak decent Spanish and had no problems communicating with anyone. Perhaps someone who doesn't speak Spanish would be better suited in a more fancy (and expensive) American-owned hotel. If you have pets with you that might present a problem as most foreign hotels here don't accept pets and/or charge extra fees which is not the case at Hotel Suites Kino. Everyone here including the tourists were very tolerant of my 2 dogs and there is a nice place to walk them in the Kino parking lot just across the street from the hotel. A/C, cable TV & internet all satisfactory. I will return here next week for a dog surgery at probbly the best veterinarian in Sonora so I will definitely stay here again. If you look on the map, the location is within walking distance to the beautiful Hermosillo catedral and there are always taxis near to do sightseeing. There are also local "abarrotes" convenience stores as well as 7-11's nearby if you don't want to eat in the restaurant. Also for foreigners...take those "U.S. State Warnings" with a good dose of skepticism. I traveled from Tucson through Nogales as a single female driving with 2 dogs and NEVER had a problem and everyone at the border was very helpful! I have been traveling around Baja and now Sonora often by myself and never had a problem.
