S U P E R B Hotel W O N D E R F U L Staff
Wow what a beautiful uber well maintained hotel the Omni on Hilton Head is. We checked in last week for a 30-days + stay (house hunting) and we are so happy we chose the Omni. From the managing director, the front desk supervisor, the bell hop, floor attendants, security officer, and maintenance staff - all so friendly and step right up to assist. Our 750 sq ft king suite is gorgeous, well appointed, comfortable, with a modern kitchenette, great soft king bed mattress, wonderful huge bathroom, and has a great tree-top view to the Atlantic and beach. We see gorgeous sunrises and sunsets daily. The hotel has amazing gorgeous grounds to walk around with huge Palmetto trees, flowers, fountains, fire pit, three pools, and hot tubs. There are so many amenities. The hotel staff obviously takes great pride in the facility because they maintain the property in such great condition and cleanliness. We also bought our dog with us and the staff could not be nicer to her. Th htoel's XO Lounge is also a great dining choice to watch any sports event. The bar tenders and kitchen staff are great. The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is just that - a resort with wonderful amenities and staff. We are looking forward to the other Omni resort locations to visit.
A Mixed Bag
This is not like the other Omni resorts we've enjoyed. It was mainly disappointing. There were some bright spots like good beach access, delicious breakfast and great service at HH Prime, excellent spa treatments despite the small facility, and very nice staff in all areas. Our room had a great view, but it was drab, dated, and smelled musty. The balcony is directly over the family pool, so it was more noisy than relaxing at times. The food options were limited and quality was mediocre except for breakfast. We cancelled NYE dinner reservations at HH Prime after discovering the only option was a $99/person prix fixe menu of
Great location but a bit dated
We enjoyed our stay here. It's a prime location right on the ocean and the staff was helpful for the most part. The place is a bit dated. A big plus is that they accepted dogs as we were traveling with ours. We were a bit disappointed that the pool restaruant/bar wasn't open because it wasn't "the season" but perhaps you can blame that on Covid.
Lacking amenities
We were very disappointed in our stay. For a higher end hotel, you would expect better amenities. The pools and hot tubs were closed by sunset, which is about 5:30pm the time of year we stayed. The rooms were very dark. There was only two fire pits and not much comfortable outside seating. The only positive to the hotel is its location.
Keep searching
Hotel is pretty run down and in desperate need of a renovation. Certainly not the Omni quality I have experienced in other locations. This one smells like mold, carpets are worn out, amenities lacking. Certainly not a great experience especially when you are looking for something deep clean in the COVID era. If you are looking for a higher end hotel then look elsewhere. The only bright spots here are the location and staff. The good news about the condition of the hotel was it kept everyone wanting to do activities outside the hotel so we got to experience plenty on the island.
