Bom hotel no meio do nada

Free wifi e funcionando bem. A UA pagou US$ 52 pelo quarto com banheiro privativo.

Fica no meio do nada

DO NOT BOOK HERE. The Hotel is CLOSED.

I made a reservation on the phone directly with the branch from 03/19/2020 to 03/25/2020 one month ago in February 2020. I made sure to confirm my reservation this past Tuesday on 03/17/2020 as I never received a confirmation email. I had trouble reaching the hotel - I called the number provided on their website and subsequently by the reservations staff multiple times, trying each department to no avail. After half an hour, I called the reservation main line. The reservations staff were kind enough to provide me a reservation number and told me that they had me in the system. I asked the reservation specialist if they were sure that this branch was still open for business and was told that there was nothing in the system stating otherwise. When asked why, I told them that it was because I had read a review on Tripvisor from March 11, 2020 that stated that the hotel was closed to business and that they ended up staying at a neighboring hotel. I flew into Houston today, 03/19/2020. Tried from the airport for half an hour to reach the front desk. Kept calling back and tried Accounting, Sales/Catering, the Front Desk, the Shuttle line, and then again for the front desk with no answer. Called the reservation main line and a kind man offered to try and patch me through. I got transferred to the hotel line, no one answered again. I ended up having to take a taxi and was dropped off in front of the hotel. When I arrived, it was completely dark. There was a single piece of paper that simply read "CLOSED." I looked around and there was no one to be found. Walking across the parking lot, I was told at a neighboring hotel that they had been closed for the past two weeks, that all their parking reservations were transferred and to be handled by this neighboring hotel. I was shocked because if two weeks ago, the hotel was able to transfer all of their parking reservations, what is the reason that I was not notified of their closure when I booked my room in February? More than four weeks ago. I arrived in Houston thinking I would be met with a room, a place to go and instead, I experienced extraordinary amounts of stress, had to attempt to find a hotel with room space for my non-refundable medical licensure course and while doing so, was at risk all because I was not notified of a business closing. Mark my words - never again.
