Hotel remodelado, Limpo...MAS!!!
Recomendo !!!
Great location but service and food was generally a disappointment
There were a lot of positives to Le Pic Blanc, the location, the views, and the general ambiance were all great. Unfortunately we all too often had to wait a VERY long time for drinks from the bar, on some occasions not even receiving the drinks or snacks we ordered. It was so frustrating. The problems continued in the restaurant (we opted for half board) where the quality was very disappointing and service slow, and there were several mistakes over the duration of our holiday.
Professional, clean and well presented.
Just completed a lovely stay at this hotel and have nothing but nice things to say. I had an issue with noise and staff were more than happy to move me to a quieter room. Arthur was exceptionally helpful when handling my complaints and was both professional and compassionate - I would recommend anyone to stay here. Many thanks!
Perfect? No. Improvement required? Definitely
We wish we could praise this hotel as much as other reviewers, but honestly we can’t and the location for ski school at Bergen’s is fantastic. First impression due to excellent front desk staff - Arthur - brilliant. We arrived about 9pm having arrived by taxi from Grenoble airport. Whisked into dining room by the Manager, brilliant. Took ages for our order for drinks and food to be taken, and took even longer for food to arrive at the table, then drinks. Food wasn’t as ordered for two of us. One was sent back and still came back wrong. The other wrong one was meant to have tagliatelle but was just a choice selection of well cooked and presented vegetables. We cancelled dinner for new year’s Eve on the basis of how dreadful our experience had been on this first night. Staff mostly multi-lingual. We have eaten outside the hotel in various restaurants in Alpe D’Huez and have not been disappointed with any, so our recommendation is use these. As for breakfast!! The hotel is fully booked and the management need to get a time and motion study in-place for how their staff manage their guests. Too many uncleared tables, too many tables that have been cleared not re-set for guests. Staff polite but underperforming; training required, not see how it goes on-the-job training. Too few staff employed to cover the breakfast as all guests will use this facility. And very poorly planned layout for where guests have to get foods. Lack of plates by cold buffet. Suggestion:- go to the Cambrian hotel in Adelboden, or the Sunstar hotel in Saas-Fee and see how good the guests’ breakfast experience can be. Necta vending machines for coffee, hot chocolate etc are needing renewal or else Necta products aren’t being used as coffee and hot chocolate beverages are not of the Necta quality when their parent was Compass. Rooms are nice but small for two adults and two ten year olds. Not big bathrooms and at the price of a family room for a week it would be better if he sofa beds were of better quality. We had to ask for the sofa bed to be re-set as a sofa during the day so we could use it when we came back to the hotel during the day - the door to the balcony can’t be opened when it is laid out as a bed - then made as a bed after 6pm as a bed (see image). Room is no better than a Novotel but a lot more money spent for the use of it due to the great location of the hotel. On arrival I had to make on-going repairs to the toilet flush mechanism as it was broken to get our waste flushed - no maintenance available until approx 5pm the day after arrival. Yesterday we returned to the room to find the vanity mirror in the basin with the bolt that secures it. Housekeeping had knocked-off the wall. Maintenance arrived about 5pm, looked at it, but realised a new one has to be obtained. Apart from this housekeeping is very good. View from room superb - see image - and ski rental shop in basement superb. 4 star hotel - for facilities. 1 star for breakfast experience. We’ve given it an average rating, but for the price it it should be far better and on price alone perhaps poor to average would be a better grading.
