Quiet ,save on skittle league nights, ,understated pub with basic rooms ,good beer ,excellent landlord and basic breakfast. Have reasonable expectations and you will not be disappointed. Access to good local restaurants.

Dog friendly, quiet pleasant pub /accommodation in Bridport Town Centre

We have stayed here quite often. Friendly staff, the rooms are lovely and clean. Nice pub with friendly locals. Public car park next door. No extra cost for dogs. Reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.

Quiet pub with accommodation

A very friendly welcome from the staff in a typical country pub complete with pub games and somewhat of a rarity, a skittle alley. This is a pub with rooms. It is not an hotel so don't expect daily housekeeping nor daily change of towels, it's more of a B&B and at that it is quite good. The rooms are spacious and clean, but not all are en suite despite the sign in the car park. Our room had a private bathroom with a key but this still required a trip across the landing. The website explains this clearly enough and it was my fault for not reading it when I booked.

Lovely stay at the Nelson!

Staff amazing, helpful and friendly. Dog friendly and with no extra charge for dogs. Room large and very very clean. It is noisy as it is on the main Bridport thoroughfare however this didn’t detract from our stay. Landlady lovely lady who provided a great breakfast. Our only criticism is that there is a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the place especially upstairs and being a non smoker it was noticeable. We would stay again if in the area

Small friendly pub in town centre clean tidy rooms and a good welcome from the landlord. Really good selection of items for the buffet continental . Well worth a visit with good atmosphere The only tiny niggle was getting in out of hours using a door code not good after a few beers Highly recommend it for A quiet break in a lovely town
