Relaxing stay
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. We originally were going to purchase a Groupon voucher, but after chatting with a guy on the phone decided to upgrade to the harbour view room and book direct. So very glad we did ! The guy that checked us in was friendly and welcoming as were all the staff. The couple that made and served us breakfast each morning, I can clearly see, worked their arses off! After reading the reviews about locals only having glasses and being unwelcoming, we were a bit worried. No need! They were very welcoming and of course we had glasses. If it was a busy period or sitting outside I would completely understand not having a glass anyway. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable,over due, 3 nights and we will most definitely be back. Thank you 😊
3 night breakaway
I stayed here for a 3 night breakaway just before the 2nd lockdown. The hotel & staff were great! It’s an old hotel so don’t expect plush carpets and comfort. But it was clean, tidy and full of character. Breakfast was delicious with a good choices. Our evening meal was great too. I’d definitely recommend it for a base to explore the surroundings. We didn’t have a view, but we weren’t bothered, as long as it was comfy...which it was.
Strange service, but nice location by the harbour
This is in a nice spot for a drink by the harbour. A notice outside said non residents were welcome so we went inside but no one greeted us or offered help. No idea of how to buy a drink to sit outside. Ended up going around the one way system to the front again. I eventually found a member of staff who said order from the hatch. A member of staff finally came and we ordered. No bitter beer which was disappointing but it was nice to sit outside with harbour views. This was the only reason we came here but service was poor.
Mini break
We stayed here for 3 nights last week. Had a lovely view over the harbour and room was very comfortable. Good choice of breakfasts which were very nice. Didn't like having cardboard cups for tea and coffee, or plastic glasses but guess thats due to Covid. Very good location.
Rubbish
Don't bother going in for a drink they really don't want you if your not s local. Only locals are allowed a glass the rest are served in plastic water glasses, poor quality at top dollar prices Pleanty of other drinking places where you are more welcome
