1st room was terrible

Room 109 is terrible. Super MUSTY!!! The carpet felt wet and the AC was blowing musty. We complained and the motel did nothing. Next day we asked for a new room and got it. MUCH better room!!! Grateful they allowed us to switch rooms. Big language barrier with the front desk, but they are trying.

Do not, I repeat do not stay here. The lobby had immediate red flags. Let’s start with the 3 candles burning on the check-in counter, then add the smell of a moldy ashtray mixed with sewage and a broken dehumidifier blowing towards the restroom. I booked through Priceline, but it was cheap and I didn’t read the reviews. That was my first mistake. My mother-in-law mouthed silently to me “let’s make sure the room is clean” and I noticed her body language. I hand the gal behind the desk my ID and card and she asks for the card I used when I booked the room. That wasn’t the card they had on file. It was some persons card from BANGKOK THAILAND. I proceed with check-in after the gal deleted any card info and made a whole new check-in because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt which was my second mistake. The attendant stated she only had two rooms: one that locked and one that didn’t, and I was still willing to see the room. That was my third mistake. We get to our room and it was filthy to put it extremely nicely. Walking into the room was my fourth mistake. After asking a local couple about it (I thank them for their honesty) we went back to the motel, rescinded our reservation and drove 7 miles west to the Motel 6 in Avoca. I highly recommend you do the same.

First the good: Our room was reasonably clean and comfortable, though nothing fancy. The bad part was that the lobby bathroom was disgusting. There were soiled sheets on the floor and feces on the toilet seat. Had we not already made a reservation we would have turned around and left

Don't stay here!! Right when I walked in, the door stuck and I had to yank it. Place stunk like old smoke and mildew. Disgusting, horrible place. Light fixture was hanging from the wall. Room was filthy. Carpet and ceiling all stained. Ceiling tiles drooped. Room reeked of mold!!! I got physically sick and had an awful headache after we left. Wall was peeling away from itself. I didn't want to walk barefoot or get into the bed. "Breakfast" was jam and peanut butter out in a bowl and bread. Unsanitary! Seriously. Just avoid this place like the plauge. I have never been so happy to leave a hotel!

When we checked in, it was hard to miss the horrible smell. All the carpets were vacuumed, but were filthy. We were told that we could not lock our room unless we were IN it. Unfortunately there were no more rooms for us to move to as there was a wedding in town (which is why we were there). Our room smelled musty and moldy. Again carpet was filthy, and damp. The toilet was not bolted down to the floor, and the toilet seat was broken. Made for a great balancing act to sit and go to the bathroom, to say NOTHING of wiping!!!!! After we got ready for the wedding, we had to take all of our stuff back to the vehicle to keep it safe. We were NOT going to leave our suitcase and meds in the room when it did not even lock!!!!!!! What the hell??????? When we got back after the wedding, we both went to bed. Still smelled musty, carpet still damp. My husband and I both wear C-pap machines (thank God) so during the night the smell didn’t seem so bad. But when we woke up the next morning and took our masks off, both of us felt sick, literally!! The smell of mold was overwhelming!!! I have a lung disease and I could not breathe! We had to get dressed and leave ASAP. I was nauseous all morning, I had to take extra medicine to breathe. This place needs to be shut down until the mold and repairs can be fixed! The ceiling tiles are even sagging because of all the moisture.
