We've just had a great family reunion in Bristol with 17 of us staying at the Gothic Mansion. Although we had a great trip we were disappointed in the property. For a large group there is only one small range cooker and one domestic dishwasher, the kitchen draws are falling apart and when you look up there is grime and cobwebs. Even the extractor doesn't work in the kitchen. The dinning room chairs also need new springs so it was pot luck as to how comfortable your dinner would be. We all felt it was a lovely property that needs a deep clean, new better equipped kitchen and some serious TLC.

Most disgusting mansion ! Not child friendly or disabled friendly! Very dirty with mice and rats everywhere, broken door handles were you get stuck inside ! No fire safety measures, horrible dirty kitchen ! Would not recommend to my worst enemy! Broken showers and dirty baths ! Not enough toilets and bathrooms for 35 people ! Stair cases were not safe to climb on because of nails coming out of the old carpets. Very rude owner that will take your deposit and make any excuses to not give it back ! This place needs to be demolished as it’s not healthy to stay at !

Great location, not too far from the city centre bars and restaurants, and getting taxis in and out was easy. We found the owner helpful, and the internal decor is amazing unless you like faceless modern architecture in which case this won't suit you at all! Lovely bathrooms and the jacuzzi was great to warm up in after a long walk, as it was pretty cold outside when we stayed. We also had a morrocan buffet style meal organised by the owner which was very good value. It was a great weekend to remember. Staying in a hotel for 35 of us would have been very expensive, and also we couldn't have relaxed and enjoyed ourselves as we were able to here, because we had the whole place to ourselves.

Corporate Murder Mystery team building stay

I have just returned from The Gothic mansion, where a corporate team building event was held for 35 of us. This was the perfect setting for our murder mystery themed team building evening. The mansion is a beautiful and unique building. The facilities were great.We made our own meals in the huge kitchen and dined altogether in the big hall. I love this place and i am hoping to return for a family do early next year. Thanks again to The Gothic mansion team for making our stay wonderful.

I debated what to rate this establishment as some things were outstanding and others were less so; in all I think an average 3/5 is far. I went to the Gothic Mansion in Bristol for a weekend away with friends. Great things: The number of bedrooms/beds, the feel of the mansion, the furniture and decor in the social areas. Not so great things: The place needs a good clean. I don't mind the odd spider web but the place just felt dirty. Blinds in the bedroom I stayed in barely block the sun at all which meant an early wake up. The caretaker, however was fantastic. Really accomodating with organising cabs for us and super friendly.
