"Quality" does not describe my experience with this hotel. I booked this hotel through Travelocity where you see pictures of a completely different property (that or it's just extremely run down). I was approached at the front desk by a woman who's identity is unknown. I explained that I had called two nights prior to request early check-in as I was arriving on an early flight and had a funeral to attend. (The woman I spoke with on the phone was very nice and assured me a room would be ready.) The woman behind the desk was immediately rude with me explaining that IF there was a room ready there would be a charge. I explained that the woman never mentioned a charge and I might have reconsidered this property had I known. This woman was not amused by my polite, but blunt honesty, and started raising her voice admonishing me. In an attempt to smooth the situation I asked if we could just continue and how much the fee would be. She told me she didn't know; maybe $15-20. I told her that I wish I had known but let's proceed. She continued to admonish me and told me that I wasn't told there would be a fee because I didn't ask. (Someone should tell her that isn't very proactive customer service.) I of course asked to speak with the manager who I was hoping might be a reasonable person. She told me she was the manager. By this point things weren't going well and she eventually had enough whining to herself about me and refused me service which is well within her rude, childish, and unprofessional rights to do. Of course I would like to speak to someone about her charming demeanor so I took a chance in asking for the GM or owner's name or contact info. Wouldn't you know it, she was the owner, and GM as well, however she would not give me her name. Later in talking to the parent franchise, Choice Hotels, I was told the hotel is owned by a man. I suppose this could be his wife and if so I take back everything bad I have said, because he's obviously suffered enough living with this nasty woman. If you like being scolded, yelled at, and flat out disrespected as a customer, check out Quality Inn in Johnson City. This is not the southern hospitality I know from the residents of the Tri-Cities. Frankly it offends me that guests to the town where I grew up are potentially being treated this way.

Things broken, stained and dusty!

Two of our employees got to their room yesterday and to start off, the door lock was broken. Inside, the towel holder was ripped off the wall and hair all over the floor in the bathroom and what looked like mold on the ceiling. The sheets were stained, room was dusty, smelled like smoke (supposed to be a non-smoking room) and bugs on the window sill. This is unacceptable, even for a lower tier hotel. They left and went across the street to the Holiday Inn Express and had a great experience. That being said, I called the hotel this morning and inquired about getting a refund since it was past the guaranteed cancellation time. The man said that they had already processed the refund- I didn't have to "fight" for it.

They Said I Stole a Pillow

I was traveling for business and stayed at the Quality Inn in Johnson City TN. The place is kind of run down. There were some holes in the walls in my room. During my stay the staff was friendly enough. However several days after I checking out, I saw a charge on my credit card for $25. I called the hotel and was informed that the charge was for a missing pillow. I told them that I didn’t steel they pillow and I wanted the charge refunded. They refused. The manager was not polite on the phone and informed me that I was responsible for the items in the room and she had no proof that I didn’t steel the pillow. My company called her as well along with the hotels parent company. Same answer. I didn’t steal the pillow. I will never stay at a Quality Inn again.

I could tell the “gentleman” at the desk really “cared” about my “comfort” and wanted me and my wife to have a “quality experience” when he tried putting me in a smoking room and then said I didn’t know the difference insinuating I booked it incorrectly. Then the room was filthy, trash on floor and visible dirt and grime all over. Stained bed cover, removed that to find more fresh stains on the bed spread (kool-aid, chocolate, and human blood), removed that to find more stains on the sheets. Drawer between beds broken and dangling. When there was audible violence and screaming next door, I picked up the phone to find it does not work. Had to call the desk on my mobile. Plenty of seedy people that apparently live here? Plus, we came back to our room and they’d disabled our key so had to go back and get it fixed, which he did with a grunt. It’s whatever, but they need to change their name or put ironic quotes around “Quality” in Quality Inn & Suites

When we checked into our room, the heat did not work and we had to go get a plug in heater. The room had not been cleaned and it was absolutely disgusting. The room was also a smoking room and there was burn holes all over the bed. I do not recommend!
