We booked this hotel for all the reasons in the title. What we ended up with is an overpriced average hotel. The rooms were clean. Bed comfortable. No black out curtains so sun directly in the room. Next door to a mosque so call to prayer woke us up each morning at 5am. The staff were very helpful except perhaps the owner who tried to stop us using the bar on the ground floor of the hotel telling us we had to use the roof top bar..I asked if it was because I was female. We insisted and stayed. We later discovered that the bar on the roof top charges 100 rupees more for each bottle of beer. No Wi-Fi in our room no tv no pool - not good value.

Poor service and facilities

The hotel lobby looks good and is spacious. Late in the night, its all lights out. I agree that lights may be dimmed or minimal lights, however, here it was pitch dark. Upon inquiry to the staff, its apparently mgmt's instruction. We were leaving very early in the morning and had difficulty identifying the lobby. They keep turning off the water heater switch and in spite of calling them to turn it on, they would still turn it off within minutes. Breakfast was on another floor and food was from ground floor and thus food was cold and only limited items. Poor service and the rooms don't live up to the first impression of the lobby. Thus, the hotel is highly priced.

The hotel lobby seems pretty nice, but had a horrible smell; the staff said there was some form of leak. The rooms were ok. The whole place gave off an old vibe but not in a vintage/good sort of way, kinda like a dejected aura. The best part was the roof top restaurant, the view of the city was. spectacular.

Comfortable Value stay at a Central Location

Had a temple wedding at the neighbouring Paramara devi temple and was put up in this hotel which was centrally located, conveniently accessible to the Kochi Metro and a stone's throw away from Ernakulam North railway junction. Contrary to some of the reviews below, I found the staff friendly and even willing to go the extra mile to tend to our requests. The breakfast buffet spread was decent, and the rooms squeaky clean. As a guest, you get more than just value for what you pay here. Highly recommended for a no frills budget stay or a short business trip.

We had bedbugs in our bed!!! The room was small, the staff was not friendly, the hotel a bit old and the surroundings were not very nice. I can not recommend this hotel. The only good thing I can mention is the restaurant. We had a very polite waiter and the food was good as well.
