Shay and Amber did a fantastic job serving everyone at the managers reception. They are friendly, quick, and energetic. Really a top notch experience. Rooms are clean, front desk is kind and friendly. Only con is the pool area. Recommend!
Stay elsewhere if you’re looking for a positive experience
This hotel is horribly run. Yes, it’s being renovated, but the filth is not related to the renovation, the mgmt just doesn’t care or doesn’t open their eyes. First room, air conditioning broken. Second room, phone didn’t work, coffee maker didn’t work, air conditioning didn’t work. Ice machine also broken. They often have a sign at their front desk that says ‘sorry, we’re with another guest’, leaving lines of people wondering where the staff is. I was awakened each morning (today it was 6:10A) to the beep beep beep of trucks outside my windows related to their renovation. as with most poor hotels, they have tried to prevent you from opening windows that are meant to open. Because guests try to open them, the windows have lost their seal and you can hear every sound outside. There aren’t many guests here but they still put guests on the same floors as the movers of furniture with more noise and dodging movers. Crap in every corridor...not renovation related, but their soiled linens and housekeeping-related items. I understand it’s not the Ritz Carlton but Hilton needs to hire me to train their staff and remind the company they’re in the Hospitality business...otherwise they’ll end up like other companies whose brand is a slow crash into the ground.
Not what it used to be!!
We chose this hotel for what it used to be....amazing. That is no longer the case. The facility is dire need of repair and upgrades. There were water leaks throughout the building (they had buckets to catch the water). The wall paper in the Atrium/ breakfast area is peeling and falling down. Outside our room (509) there is chewed gum on the carpet...where it remained throughout our whole weekend.it is still there as I type. The room (509) itself was dirty, the air conditioner was so loud it made hearing the tv impossible. The TV is located to the far right of the bed, so if you hope to relax in bed and watch TV, make sure you dont get this room as watching tv from your bed is impossible. During Covid, they obviously had to make breakfast changes, but when they offered oatmeal on their menu, i expected more than an instant packet and COLD milk..most people eat their oatmeal hot. The waitress said is the only all way they could serve it. This hotel is definitel NOT WORTH THE MONEY. What once was great is now nothing more than a low budget place at high budget price. So disappointed. As a Hilton Honors customer, I expected more. Hampton Inn will get my business next time.
This is day 2 & we had 1 partial roll of TP yestetday, ran out today & we just returned at 930 pm & the maid has not been to our room & we were given 1 roll at the front desk when we went down there. No clean towels. Beds not made. Breakfast was Very slow as they did not have enough help, the ceiling tiles in the breakfast area where dirty looking & some stained. This place is a dump.
A Hilton Odyssey in the Covid Era - Night 7 of a 7 Night Trip
Maybe it was because this was the end of a 7 day, 18 state long-ass road trip, but I was disappointed in this stay, which was surprising because of all the hotels we stayed at this was the only one to offer a manager's reception and a made to order breakfast instead of a doggie bag. The staff, like the staff in every other place we stayed, was very nice and friendly, the water pressure was ok, and the bed was comfortable. The first impression of the room was that it smelled just like tequila, so they must have been using a sanitizer made by a distiller. The furniture was ok except for the couch which was actually missing the cushions that go on the back of it. The room was not what I'd reserved: I requested and was confirmed a premium King suite and we were put in a normal king suite. No, I did not go to the management to get the correct room. Why, you ask? Because by the time I'd figured out we didn't get what we'd reserved it was at the end of a 10 hour drive and we'd already unpacked a bit of our stuff, and we were too tired to care enough to repack everything, go to the front desk and move to a new room. In addition, for whatever reason the premium suite was listed as the same price as the room we were given (which was why I chose it in the first place, because, hello - snacks!), so it wasn't like we'd paid extra. I hesitated to bring it up in this review but it seemed important to do so, but let me emphasize that I didn't offer them the chance to make it right. We were just too tired. Maybe because of all the Covid stuff going on, but all the beautiful plants that normally populate their planters in the reception area were either dying or completely missing so you were left to look at dirt. We didn't go to the manager's reception because there was a large number of people there and it was too many people in the area to maintain social distancing. I do wish that we could have taken part in their made to order breakfast because it looked promising - instead of being served buffet style they came to take your order and brought it to your table. We were pushing to get on the road by 6:00 am, get out of Kansas City and beat the work traffic though, and didn't have the time to wait for it to be cooked. It's a shame because this was the best option we'd seen at any of the hotels during the entire trip.
