What a difference a day makes

We checked into the kimpton last Saturday and unfortunately our flight home was cancelled due to the hurricane. We had a lovely premium room with a sitting area and large bathroom. Since we had to add another day, we checked with the front desk and asked to keep our room another day. I was told the eve before we could keep our room for an additional day of our flight was cancelled, so to be told in the am that we could get another room but would have to move, was annoying but we were assured the room was the same level as the one we were in prior, so we would be paying the same amount and it was a matter of moving our items.
You can imagine my surprise when they showed me a room half the size, next to a room being renovated. Our prior room was approx 320 square feet and the room we were moved into is about 120 square feet. I asked if I would be receiving a lower room rate and was told no! All premium rooms are the same amount.
I can’t even express my displeasure enough. This is our second time here and I feel like I am being taken advantage of.
You absolutely cannot charge the same price for two very different rooms in size and quality.
The other room had two closets, a specious bathroom, a sitting area, a coffee table and chairs outside the room and lounge chairs. This room has a tiny shower, no place to properly store your luggage and the list goes on.
While I’m writing this, I’m listening to construction sounds next door.
If the Kimpton does not correct the disparity I. What we are paying, we will choose another place to stay when we return next March.

You cannot charge the same price for these two very different rooms.
Key west vibes, great service

We visit Key West at least twice a year and have stayed all over, Sunset Key, Dewey House to name a few. This past April we stumbled upon the Kimpton Lighthouse and enjoyed our stay so much we returned again and invited friends along. Love the little porches and down pillows and bedding. Our bartender Rob went above and beyond today and made relaxing at the pool a very fun and personable experience. My only complaint ...., there has to be daily room service. I don’t think a place like this almost two years into covid can use that as an excuse to not take care of your room each day. Regardless, we plan to return next March and see Rob, “Gary Cooper” and the crew.

Horrible experience with Kimpton LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL. We made the reservation for 2 nights through COSTCO Travel (Friday and Saturday night). When we arrived at Kimpton LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL the lady at front Desk, Ariel, told us that she can only check us in for one night. We had to check out by 11:00am the next day and check back in again after 4:00pm for our second night reservation. When we questioned the rationale for checking out and checking back in and not having a room for over 5 hours when we had the reservation for 2 nights and were paying for complete 2 nights; she said it was because we made the reservation through COSTCO Travel and paid for Standard Room. She was extremely rude, never said she was sorry about the situation; there was no apology at all. She said if we had done the reservation through their own site this wouldn't had happened; and she said she understood it was causing a minor discomfort on our side; but she made it very clear that she didn't care about our discomfort. She even said we could cancel the reservation. We had a long travel to Key West; we were already very tired so we didn't cancel our reservation for the first night. We stayed for one night and cancel our reservation for the second night early next morning and left the hotel. I do not recommend anyone to go this hotel by any means. Very unprofessional behavior and extremely rude staff.
Rob is Amazing!!

This review is mostly for our favorite person and best bartender that we met in Key West. Rob was the first person that we met in Key West on our week long trip and he remained our favorite for the rest of the trip. While he was only subbing as a bartender, he normally works at the front desk, he was AWESOME. So personable, easy to talk to, kind and most importantly FUN! His drinks and conversation were amazing and he always had a new fun drink for us to try. He gave amazing suggestions for restaurants and bars to try out and my fiance and I were so thankful to have met him. We only got to hang with him 3 out of our 7 days but he was the best! He clearly cared about staying organized, keeping things clean and making sure that everything at the bar was ready for the next person to come in and be able to have a successful day. We wish Rob the best and can't wait to hear that he has made management soon! Thank you Rob for the amazing drinks and great times in Key West! If you don't go to Isabel's for a drink with Rob you're missing out
Terrible experience at an outrageous price

We were arriving during a possible tropical storm and wanted to cancel due to the possible severity, we were advised we would loose the security deposit of over $500 if we did not go. We booked a suite, they tried to put us in a queen room. Rooms were not cleaned during our stay neither we were advised that was not the case. We needed to grab towels at the pool since we did not get cleaned ones during the stay. Balcony was missing a rail in the room. Water from the shower leaked all the way to the room floor. There were cockroaches in the bathroom. They claimed they have a "best rate guarantee" bur they don't tell you that you need to file a claim 24 hours AFTER you did your reservation (how?). If you are a first responder, don't dream to have there rates honored because they do not do it, they will find an excuse. 4 parking sport at t he hotel, otherwise you need to park 3 bock away. We contacted management for explanations and they brushed us off. .
