Bistro Bar and Grill
Overall a great stay. The staff was very accommodating, especially Holly at the Bistro Bar and Grill next to the lobby. Holly was friendly and attentive, having good small talk, as well as great at knowing her craft by giving delicious food recommendations and remembering my drink for the few days I was there.
Very clean hotel
I had a bad experience the previous night at another hotel close by. I called the Courtyard and asked if they had any rooms I could check in to early, so I could get out of the other hotel ASAP. I walked into the hotel and Janae at the front desk asked if I was the one she had spoken with. She was very professional, helpful, and friendly. The room was very clean, quiet and well laid out for comfort and work. I had a quick bite for dinner at the cafe and the food was really tasty. Janae called me by name the next morning when I went to check out. She wanted to make sure everything was great in the hotel. This will be my hotel of choice next time I'm in the area because of the staff and cleanliness.
NOISY, DARK, and NOT RELAXING.
If you want a quiet and relaxing stay, avoid this place. Especially if you’re unlucky enough to be given a room on the freeway side. You’ll get ZERO sleep and absolutely no rest. The freeway noise never ends! And when the old room heater goes on, it’s also noisy and will wake you up. And when the fridge runs, it will clank and make even more rough noise. When people walk down the hall and are talking, you’ll hear everything they say and even hear their footsteps. All I ever ask of any hotel that I stay at, is for peace and quiet. This place is an utter failure in that regard. I asked for a different room, because the 2d floor room that I was originally given collected noise from over the lobby and had a very noisy fridge. Next they gave the me a 6th floor room on the freeway side. This was ten times worse. Either the staff did not pay attention to what I was asking for or they just don’t care. With so much competition in the hotel business, it’s time for the Marriott chain to focus on making their hotels less noisy and more comfortable. Their managers and employees need to realize this is a hospitality business, not a hostel or an open hall dorm. Quiet and comfort should be their top concern, but at this hotel, I could tell, it was not. If you agree with me about what a hotel should be, then you should definitely avoid staying at the Courtyard in Killeen, Texas. There are many fine, modern, and quiet hotels in the areas, but this one is sure not one of them. Rated 2 stars. Overall Poor Quality.
Better than expected
Stayed here because it was also hosting our High School reunion. Didn’t expect much based on the price point but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Lobby has been renovated with an open concept design that really works for the space. Elevators haven’t been fixed up and neither have the hallways so figured fixed were all cosmetic Entered the room and realized I was wrong. Rooms have a modern feel and were clean - no underlying odors of carpets past. King bed was comfortable, fridge was good size and closet had plenty of room. The Bathroom sold me - very lean look. Old tub has been replaced by a true tile shower with glass door - no fiddling with a dirty curtain. Even had a small ledge at shin level for resting your foot during bathing or shaving. Hot water was available without a long wait and plenty of it. I’d recommend they provide a little more in the way of hooks for towels. Also, from an event perspective, better signage for restrooms. Will stay here again.
Nice, convenient hotel
The staff are nice and professional. During my stay, I had to make a change to my reservation and was accommodated with no issue. The property itself is probably a little older based on the low ceilings in the halls which were a bit musty. However, the lobby is large and we'll appointed with seating convenient for lounging, meeting with friends or conducting business. The rooms are also renovated, modern and spacious. My only real critique would be that the elevators are quite old and consequently slow. Overall, I would stay here for cleanliness, location and the friendly staff.
