Quiet hotel with high class lunch on the Murasaki river bank
Avaliou em 20 de dezembro de 2020
Crown Palace is an exquisite hotel on the Murasaki River bank, a river that springs from Mt. Fukuchi. One of the hotel’s main feature is its gorgeous terrace restaurant with direct access to the river walk. Riverwalk Kitakyushu is a prestigious shopping centre that includes theatres, restaurants, a multiplex cinema, NHK studios, the head offices of Zenrin Co. and the Asahi Shimbun and a branch of the Kitakyushu City Art Museum. My wife and I stayed 2 times in Crown Palace this year summing about one month. Some rooms have city view but I didn’t try any. I recommend the rooms with a view over the Murasaki river. The railway station is at 10 minutes walking distance. Kokura castle, the district’s main attraction, is just across the riverbank. This was not the first year to stay in Crown Palace, so I could observe the constancy of high quality services. I was mostly impressed by the lunch, not only by the food, its presentation, but also by the way it was served. I knew Crown Palace from few years ago for the French dinners. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, dinner restaurant was closed. I recommend the deluxe double room (see my pictures). Breakfast is very good, don’t miss it. If you stay long, as we did, and wish to try other places to eat, there are plenty of restaurants and cafeterias nearby.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on the way to Gwalior. The hotel is very near the railway station and within a market place. The rooms are spacious but the service is bad. They do not provide the mandatory 1 litre mineral water. When we asked for it tgey said that they provide filter water. But the filter water provided was full of impurities which made it clear that the hotel do not have any water purifier. They do not provide any electric kettle. The food is so so and fully vegetarian. There is a temple near the hotel where some program was going on till late night. The sound from there was very disturbibg. Although they had said that they have a car parking but we had to park our car on the road. But the durwan is very helpful ....he cleaned our cars in the morning and even helped us to locate a mechanic when one of the cars had some trouble.

The cheapest of my accomodation in Japan. The room is a little dated but overall it's excellent, was the biggest room of my stay. The staff are excellent and breakfast is pretty good. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonable value full service hotel. Would well stay here again.

We stayed in a 'spacious twin room' in upper floor. It had a separate luggage room and bathroom before waking into the room. Well cleaned and maintained spacious room was very comfortable to stay! They had a free WiFi to use in the room. The view from the room was fantastic looking over the Murasaki river. The hotel is located in downtown Kokura. Very close to main shopping area in town. Some big department store nearby as well as Gintengai (shopping mall). The must is Tanga ichiba - the market. You will get to experience local life! Single walk way full of shops, mostly yummy foods!

Decent business hotel

Good business hotel with nice facilities for business meetings and strong wifi. Room sizes are a bit above Japan average, breakfast can be boring after three days. Around the hotel there are a couple of big shopping malls and Kokura castle is also in the nearby.
