Older hotel but still nice
You hear every door slam loudly!! All night!! There was a strong odor of POT in the hallways. Good parking, attentive check in staff, and friendly staff. I had dropped a box and a staff member immediately went out of his was to check on me. Wonderful! The rooms were updated, bed comfy and clean. Bathroom was updated, but still a little cramped. Shower was a bit outdated During Covid times there was no plenty of signage to wear masks and hand sanitizer. Breakfast was not available.
Oldie but goodie hotel in Kokomo
The Hampton Inn Kokomo may be an oldie but it’s a goodie. For many years it’s been the best place I’ve stayed in Kokomo. Considering its age, the staff does an excellent job maintaining and managing it. No it’s not a perfect place, but you can tell a lot of work goes into keeping it up. I love the lobby and the cleanliness of the elevators. So many budget hotels have raggedy elevators that barely move but theirs are in excellent repair. The service is also very thorough and friendly without being too overbearing. The breakfast options are pretty decent given COVID. On this visit, I stayed in the fireplace suite. It’s the highest accommodation there but with COVID, the rate was an excellent deal. I really liked the level of the suite and the homey, private feel of it. It had a kitchen, fireplace, living room, huge bedroom, and bathroom with vanity. There were two nice sized TV’s in there with many DIRECTV channels. Although I didn’t want to change rooms; I did run into some problems that made it necessary after a few days. The water pressure was very low in the suite, the tub faucet wouldn’t shut all the way off, the water temperature in the shower would suddenly become freezing cold, I found feathers and old noodles on the floor (gross), someone’s old ice cream was in the freezer (yuck), and the last straw was the TV service going out in the bedroom. Also, I was told the suite I switched to was an “upgrade at no charge” but it was much smaller and cramped and lacked some of the features that the fireplace suite had although it was in much better repair. Upon mentioning this at checkout though, the gentleman at the desk adjusted the rate as he realized it was a downgrade. I didn’t have to ask him to either. Most of the time, I don’t have those kinds of issues staying there, but the way they handled it makes me still want to return in the future. My only real criticism is that they should probably renovate a bit more (e.g. get rid of the tub/shower combos and install standing showers with rain shower heads and refresh the room furniture a bit). The parking lot needs re-paving really bad too. If they give it some refreshment touches, I can see the hotel being that much more of a cash cow. It’s located perfectly and on beautiful grounds that make you feel like you’re away and at peace so no need to change that. Highly recommend this cozy place!
Excellent stay
We had a quick, accurate and friendly check in. The room was clean and decorated well. The bed was comfortable and we even had popcorn for the microwave. COVID did factor into the stay. Masks were required, hand sanitizer was readily available, the pool and work out room were closed. They did a fine job offering a breakfast that was the safest under the conditions. Would stay here again.
Midwest Chairwoman
We held a convention here and the staff was helpful and friendly. All of our needs were meant and everything they said would be done was taking care of. They made our time here easy and relaxing!! Couldn’t have made this happen without Jen Ogle and the Hampton Inn staff. Thanks so much 😊
Very nice place to stay
Traveling with my small dog and teleworking. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating and granted me a late check-out. Loved the room which overlooked a grassy back yard for the pup. Excellent throughout. Very clean, everything worked- If I weren't going to see friends, I would never have left!
