Gracious 17th Century Charm

One gets a feeling of history as you walk through the gate after a coming down a beautiful tree lined entry. The old stone walls of the manor are imposing yet welcoming. The rooms and bathrooms are large and ours looked out over the ponds. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom modern. Wifi worked well. The dining room and salon were beautiful rooms. The host was very welcoming. A stay is highly recommended but it is more a guest house than a hotel. Finding the place required some diligence as the address can be confused.

The best of history and pastoral beauty

The Manoir du Stang is beautiful inside and out. The drive down the tree lined entrance barely prepares you for the sight that greets you when you arrive at the Manoir. The grounds are well kept and the views from the rooms are spectacular! Monsieur Hubert was our gracious host. I highly recommend visiting the Manoir!

Off the beaten track and not particularly close to anything. Great place if you want peace and quiet, read a book etc and there is plenty of 4G phone service and WiFi if needed. The place is full of history. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Lovely lakes. Huge fire place. To say that our room was immaculately clean would be an understatement. The host was very helpful and welcoming. No food in the evenings so we brought our own wine and platter of cheeses etc and ate in the dining room. We were unaware that we could buy wine from the host but he didn’t seem to mind that we brought our own.

Comfortable room but the floor creaked terribly. Grounds were lovely and the breakfast room and lounge were beautiful. For us it was too far out of town as it was 2Km down a steep hill into the town which we walked most of the time as the traffic through La Foret Fouesnant was terrible for most of the day with a continuous line of vehicles in every direction which spoilt the town for us. Definitely prefer Cap Coz or Beg Meil or even Benodet as places to stay on our next visit.

When you drive to this place, and see the entrance of this old castle you imagine nobles lived here centuries ago.. the view from our room was magnificent view of pond with ducks and old trees... coming from US where we call 200 years old building made of wood, historical, its an unforgetable experience to stay in a building that was built in 16th century ... its not a traditional hotel with bells and whistles and no TVs but who needs that ...
