The place to stay 25 miles around

I would make a detour just to stay there again. The house is pristine and the rooms decorated with taste - the whole place in fact. The bathroom was of high standard. Lots of complimentary toiletries are provided. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade cakes and yogurt. You eat in the veranda (or outside) in front of the pool. The place is on the outskirts of the village, so it is quiet. You can park the car inside the property. Since security is important for the owners, you need to call them (or use the bell) if you are coming back late. For joggers-runners, there is a great run in the hills. Turn right after exiting the property. It goes up, until you get to an intersection. Turn left. At the end the paved road becomes a dirt trail. Later, you'll get to a road, keep to the left (it should be 3 km or so to this point). Carry on this road. You can't get lost. The owner is a runner. This is where he trains. The landlady speaks English. We did not try diner. In conclusion, a not to be missed in the area.

We drive down to the south of France every year, stopping at chambres d'Hotes on the journeys there and back. We have stayed in some great places but this tops them all. From the warm welcome from Christine and Michel, the very well presented drink by the lovely pool to the fantastic meal that was served up to us that evening. This charming hostess is a wonderful cook too. The room was clean, attractive and comfortable - everything you could want. And breakfast was everything we expected after such a great dinner - home made yogurt and preserves, hot coffee and more interesting conversation. If you are looking to stop somewhere in the St Etienne area you mustn't miss the opportunity to choose la mas de la talaudier. And on-site parking behind secure gates is the icing on the cake! Five star rating - we will return.

A lovely place with friendly owners. Nice clean bedrooms, well equipped and clean bathrooms and a decent breakfast. The car can be parked at the property behind closed gates. This B&B is definitely a great alternative to the mediocre hotels in the area.

One night stay at Le Mas de la Talaudiere B&B on our way to Aix en Provence was one of the highlights of our 3 week driving tour around France. Beautiful home and my wife loved the décor in our room. Our hostess and host were very welcoming and kind. Magro made us the most wonderful dinner as well, nothing planned, just a total surprise and it was fabulous. Wished we had come in warmer weather to enjoy the garden and the pool.

On arrival we were shown our room which was very clean and smart with a nice view of the garden. We then had a cool beer sitting by the swimming pool which has lovely facilities before walking to a nearby Italian restaurant , recommended by our hostess, where we had a lovely meal in their back garden. Our bedroom provided a very good nights sleep and breakfast was very well presented , with home made jams,in the room overlooking the pool.
