We had a wonderful 3-day visit to Peponi last week and highly recommend it to other travelers. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly, but the most amazing aspect is the view! You cam relax on the beach, terrace or outside your room and look out over the water to see the boats during the day and the moon rising in the evening. We also really enjoyed touring Lamu Town, which can be arranged through the hotel.

We adore Peponi, the design, food and the team are all perfect. It’s situated in a magical beauty spot, interiors are stylish and incredibly comfortable. We found Peponi a characterful and charming escape from normal life.

My 6th time at Peponi's. It is remarkable, it is unique, a one of a kind. Stuffed with character, charm and history. The setting alone, the heartbeat of Shela. A congregation point of cultures. The rooms with views over the water ooze atmosphere and peace. The biggest beds in the world! Dawa sundowners on the best patio vibe in the world, watching Lamu life pass by on dhows, donkeys and foot. The food is the best in Kenya as long as you love seafood and especially raw seafood. The staff leave a mark with you when you leave.

Pure Magic. incredible staff, outstanding food and stunning beaches...the perfect break thank you. We loved the atmosphere and walks on the empty beaches, and a mangrove high tide float - and wonderful shopping in Shela.

What a lovely place - fabulous location, incredible staff, one of the best hotel kitchens in Kenya. We were there for a wedding. Inspired choice by the couple. The many guests were perfectly accomodated and cared for while our privacy was such that it felt like a real holiday!
