So. Many. Bugs.
I waited a long time to post this review. I contacted Hampton Inn corporate about our stay and they said someone from this location would reach out to me. It has been well over a month and they have not. This particular stay I’m writing about happened the weekend of 11/6-11/8 and it was horrifying. There were so many roaches in our room I stopped counting at 20 just on the first day. The second day my daughter was eating dinner at the desk and one crawled right up the wall in front of her. At night with the lights off you could hear them rustling in the trash cans. Part of the problem, in our room, was that almost all of the caulking between the wall and the tub was missing and they were just streaming out of there. The whole hotel smells like mildew, even when it was 50° outside they were running portable humidifiers in the hallways. That is indicative of a large scale moisture issue. If the bugs weren’t disgusting enough, and they were, there were no blankets for the pull out sofa, the pillows for the bed were so flat even my 9 year old remarked on them, and there was mold, dirt and chipped paint everywhere. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
Very nice place to stay!
We stayed there one night to attend my moms funeral. The room was very clean, the bed slept great! The staff was very courteous and friendly. The breakfast was very good! A highly recommended place to stay!
20,000 point Hampton on the way to Myrtle Beach area...
The Hampton Inn in Laurinburg, NC is an average Hampton Inn. I rate Hamptons on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest. This Hampton Inn is a 2 to 2.5. I base my opinion on the fact that I am Hilton Diamond and have stayed in TONS (35 Hampton Inns in 2019 alone) of Hampton Inns. This Hampton Inn has dropped in my ratings since my 2018 stay and in the interim has increased the points needed for a stay from 10k to 20k. The location is convenient off of the highway and is near plenty of retail and restaurants. The breakfast was standard Hampton Inn quality, which is good. The rooms are tired and dated, but clean. As other reviews have pointed out, the hotel needs some renovations. Lobby area is nice. Parking lot is clean. The front desk clerk was disinterested in the job to the point I think he may have been non-verbal? This location does not have an indoor hot tub. That is a definite downer for me, but at 20,000 Hilton Honors points per night, I have no complaints. This is a convenient stop on the way to the beach. It is about 1 hour 45 minutes away. Makes more sense to us than paying tons of money for an ocean front place that we will not get to until after dark AND prevents us from getting up super early on day one of a beach trip to hit the beach by 10 a.m. During this visit, the elevator was broken and they made no effort to move us off the 3rd floor. Would strongly reconsider staying here again and will be looking for another Hampton on the way to the beach.
Rooms not clean
Stayed at this hotel just recently. Found under garments in the room. The front desk nor Management will even talk to me about it. Have pictures. Not very sanitary. My recommendation is to not stay at this hotel.
