We loved this country inn! Was made to feel very welcome right from the off. Had our basic room upgraded on arrival to a deluxe room at the front of the inn overlooking the village square. The room was enormous and so was the beautiful en-suite. Bed was very comfy. We are in the bar that night (restaurant is available where we are a hearty breakfast) and food was of a good quality (hot curry!) and real ale is obviously well cared for as it was impeccable. Overall a very pleasant stay.

A lovely place, bar with open fire and lovely food in the restaurant. The manager was extremely helpful as were all the staff as they were really attentive and friendly. The area is lovely and we went for a walk along the river and back and I can also recommend The Trout in for a refreshment and lunch stop. Rooms are dated but they are still very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing definitely worth a visit.

Such a lovely old inn, very friendly and efficient staff and great food! We stayed in a superior room upstairs in the inn, in a wonderful old room with lots of original features. The room was very clean with lots of space and a view over the market place. The bar and restaurant both offer food and are very good value. We ate in the restaurant first night and we’re so impressed we went back the second night. It’s a fabulous location with its own car park, and lovely walks without having to take the car out. Would definitely stay again!

I booked a weekend break for my fiance and I and this hotel blew us away... it was absolutely fantastic. We booked the superior suite and it was stunning. In the village centre with parking and a beautiful fire place in the main bar.. The manager and staff couldn't do enough for you, especially Simon, who really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening (pre booking recommended).. and the food was amazing!!... thank you so much for a memorable stay, we will definitely be back. X

Our second visit to the new inn. We had a family party at the end of January, we all had a great time. the food was lovely, very fairly priced and served quickly. We stayed the night, so we could have a drink. And found the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was just what we needed, good choice and lovely staff. Would definitely stay again
