Worked well for stop over before overnight bus ride
This is a clean and basic hotel near the bus station where we felt safe and healthy. The beds are quite stiff and amenities are minimal but internet stayed up and we appreciated the budget rate. Restaurants in walking distance are hard to find other than places across from the bus station.
HOTEL TERRANOVA DOES DELIVER!
TERRANOVA HOTEL Zona Piel ( Leather Zone) is located in the heart of the leather district in Leon, Guanajuato Mexico. After reading an average 3 bubble review out of approximately a total of 89 reviews on the TRIP ADVISER APP. This Trip Advisor Contributor usually looks for hundreds if not thousands of reviews to get a more impartial sampling of guest experiences. With such low Trip Advisor reviews it became a roll of the dice so to speak to decide to stay at TERRANOVA. I usually begin to review the best and actively look for the single bubble or look for less than single bubble reviews for a fair sampling before making a decision. Usually USA or Paris hotels three bubble reviews are more expensive than TERRANOVA LEON GUANAJUATO and an overall LOWER quality guest experience. After deciding to book TERRANOVA and being allowed an early check in 11:30am on a Saturday morning (no additional charge) 2 rooms double full beds one night and a 1 room double bed additional second night 1400 pesos which included room rate + 16% taxes + 2% hotel city taxes (the dollar was paid 18 pesos to 1 dollar at the time of check in) I began to feel a good stay was in the works! Based on the HOTEL TERRANOVA reviews the hotel manager was very responsive to customer reviews both mostly good and some not so good. In conclusion my experience at HOTEL TERRANOVA expectations were met based on Trip Advisor reviews and pictures. From the time we arrived we received quick service with our bags, very friendly front counter staff that spoke Spanish clarified any questions with our bill, and house keeping who met us at our rooms with a warm friendly WELCOME HOME smile. Any questions or issues we had were handled promptly. Spending one day of shopping in the leather district was more than we could handle. On another occasion the same lady that checked us in helped us with things to do on our second day stay by promptly bringing out of both local paid activities and free we simply had to make transportation arrangements. I simply snapped a quick foto of interested activities. Cons: We observed a couple cock roaches one in the front lobby 5pm and one next to the stairway 0400 am walking out for check out.
A good deal for its location.
If you find yourself stranded in León Mexico, near the bua station you will find this affordable hotel with plenty rooms and helpful staff. Not much else but that's fine, I found it clean and convenient. There is a restaurant downstairs which helps you avoid the funk outside. This is the commercial center in Leon, so unless you're shopping for cheap leather goods and other trinkets, just stay in or head for the other nice tourist attractions of the city or just wait for the next bus out.
No reason not to give a 5
Everything about the hotel was appropriate for a budget hotel in the city centre. Internet was fast, room was clean, and apart from a couple of moments where someone was yelling, it was remarkably quiet. Beware that the area outside is a little bit hectic if, if not dodgy. This is typical of neighborhoods near bus stations in most countries, so I kind of expected it. At night, the area is desolate. This is the place to stay if you're on a budget and taking the bus in or out on a lot though.
Comfortable, and well-located.
Very close to our bus connections. Enjoyed and shopped at the local leather district. Clean and efficient. We had no trouble with the bed, as others have? Very courteous staff. Only issue was weak Wi-Fi in our room, probably distance related. Would come again.
