The breakfast was good. The bathrooms were very clean. The bedding was clean. The noise level was great. Receptionists were helpful. Good suggestions on where to eat. Temperatures were comfortable. Bed was the right firmness. Nothing more to add.
What a difference in 40 miles

We stayed at the econo Lodge in Kearney 40 miles east and had a great experience, at a super value. Our room here was "fairly" clean . . . "just OK" but, no coffee maker and breakfast was terribly sad.
Staff was friendly enough . . . . while gouging my pocketbook! How can they charge twice what the room is worth in an area with no attractive qualities? Because they can due to the temp workers brought in to work the packing plant.

Easy access from I80, with several other hotels nearby and a few fast food restaurants. Your basic no frills budget hotel. While fairly clean the whole building had a musty odor, like laundry that was left in the washer too long! No pool. Free breakfast was nothing special, no eggs or yogurt, so we opted to eat somewhere else. I guess they allow pets but we did not need that option. i feel the price could have been a little less for what you get. One thing that concerned me was when I checked the window to make sure it was locked since we were on the first floor I discovered that you could not open the window at all. It almost seemed like it was put in wrong or something because no matter how the lock was positioned there was something blocking the window. Not that I wanted it open but in case of fire that would be an important detail. Next time would probably look for something else but it served our needs at the time.

Clean, great price, completely pet friendly! Was having hard time finding a night to stay that could accommodate us and two cats. The front desk was very friendly! Even the smoking rooms were clean. Burger King was right across very convenient! The vending machines had very cold Pepsi !
Very comfortable, clean, friendly, QUIET, budget hotel.

I came to stay in the area due to a flash flood in neighboring (sort of) Kearney, Nebraska. All the Kearney hotels were flooded so I was glad to find a room in Lexington. My original assessment of the hotel was only "it's old, not sure I want to stay long". The building shows its wear-and-tear with many bumped corners and old, scratched, sometimes sticking, doors (to the rooms). After my experience at the front desk and having slept one night in a room, I had a much better opinion of this Econo Lodge. I was so, so happy for a great night's sleep on the very new mattress, the cool and strong (a bit loud) air conditioning, and also by the surprising QUIET of this hotel. I checked under the sheets, and the mattresses were very new and clean. The room had a good-sized TV and also a refrigerator (nice and cold) and microwave oven (didn't use). The carpet is average-aged to newer and the hotel interior had been recently painted. The bathroom had older tub and sink but they were clean and stocked with soap and shampoo. Conditioner, lotion, and other toiletries were available free at the front desk, and offered by the host with a smile and a friendly word. The front desk people and the cleaning staff were really friendly and went the extra mile for you. This being an older building, I suspect it had thicker walls because the room was very quiet at all hours. You could hear someone talking in the hall, of course, but no external noise, or very little, made it into my room. There were GREAT room-darkening curtains that kept the sun away when I wanted to sleep late. There were plenty of plug-ins for your electronics. The towels were soft. The breakfast was adequate for a budget hotel, but great make-yourself waffles, REAL butter, and warm syrup were tops for me. There were no proteins on offer that I could see (except milk); all breads, cereals, sweet rolls, and waffles. The coffee was good and milk, apple and orange juices were on offer. The apple was good but I didn't try the orange. The breakfast room is not fancy but it was clean.
I ended up staying six very restful nights. The temperatures outside were in the upper 90s with heavy humidity, but you wouldn't have known it inside my room. I stayed in room 206.
Thanks Econo Lodge for a great stay!
