Proud Marriott owner visiting for the first time here!

We will be back!! I had no expectations because there were warnings of construction near by the resort...(but it was far away and in no way a problem)...the Pool was perfect and the gardens and amazing view of the oceans breathtaking but not from the first floor...we stayed on the 2nd level in a 3 bedroom villa...wow...both me and my husband were in disbelief as to the luxurious accommodations and the staff so helpful to your every needs...Awesome...

Large beautiful room

Avaliou em 27 de agosto de 2022

I have mixed feelings about this resort. The rooms are beautiful, clean, updated and great for several people. The resort itself is lacking in amenities. The pool is very nice but is small for the amount of people at the resort especially when there are a lot of families there. I would not consider this a family friendly resort myself other than the large rooms because of the lack of amenities for kids. However in July there were tons of families with young kids running the resort with walkie-talkies and taking over the pool from sun up till sun down. So if you are going for peace and quiet it would be better to go during the school year because resort is so small. Staff were extremely unhelpful and the worst of the 4 Marriott properties we visited while in Kauai. I would not stay there again for the price there are better resorts.

Best Property in Hawaii

Aloha, My wife and I have been to Kauai Lagoons 6 times since we discovered this amazing property in 2012. The property is clean, the rooms are amazing, the rooms are large, the rooms are quiet too, the kitchen is amazing and the lanai is the best!. In spite of some of the negatives you hear about the nearby construction - please do not let those comments stop you from at least trying the Kauai Lagoons. The pool is perfect for a resort of this size and no pool bar is needed at this property. Please go to Costco, Safeway or another store, buy you bar supplies and have a great drink on one of the most beautiful lanai's you can imagine. The grill area is clean and a great place to make your own dinner. Also, the staff at this resort is top notch and we have seen many of the same personnel still on the staff over the last 10 years. Tip: Every Wednesday is a Farmers Market at Kukuiula on the South Shore of Kauai. It is amazing! Also, we are the family that rescued Walter the cat. Walter is now living a great life in Vail, AZ and is loved very much! Happy and safe travels to all!

Disappointing. Promises amenities that don't exist.

The room was ok, although the cabinets are beat up and the phone was broken. The pool is a kiddie pool--small, 3 feet deepest for the most part , with water slides for young children. No beach access. The website says, under Amenities>Exercise and Recreation: "Activity programming for all ages through the Kauai Marriott." But that's not true. In order to swim in the pool at the Marriott next door you need to pay $50 per person per day. Manager said, "Oh, but that's the Kauai Beach Club, not the Kauai Marriott. We don't have control because it was sold to the Royal Sonesta." For swimming, the manager suggested the ocean at the beach it front of whatever that hotel is next door. Of course, anyone can go there. There is no restaurant at Lagoons. There is a little store that is poorly stocked. Many shelves empty. Under, Amenities>Dining, it lists restaurants at the Marriott next door: "Located nearby at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort." True. But wait a minute, she just told me that--for the purpose of amenities-- that hotel is not the Kauai Marriott, it's the Beach Club. But for the purpose of dining it's the Kauai Marriott. Which is it? They promise activities, but they are things like morning walk and pool bingo and make a luggage tag--not like yoga and aquafit and body conditioning like at a real resort. We have been coming to Kauai for 19 years and we are "presidential level" with Marriott. We own two Marriott time shares here--one at Waiohai, and one at the Kauai Marriott or Beach Club or whatever it's called. We stayed at the Beach Club last year. It really went downhill when Royal Sonesta bought it. So they switched us here for this year. Big mistake. I'd rather be there than here at Lagoons where we can't eat or swim or have grown up activities. This might be a good place if you are coming to Kauai for the first time and want to have a base from which you go off and see the sites. But if you want more than a room that looks out over a construction site, this isn't the place for you. So ultimately, this is not really just an issue with the property. It's an issue of Marriott's bait and switch on their members when they sold Beach Club to Royal Sonesta. I'd never buy from Marriott again.
