Absolutely amazing!

I stayed at Three Wells Inn for three nights and I enjoyed it a lot. The place is very beautiful, located in a quiet area and with a view to the mountains. It has a internal courtyard where my friends and I spent time with other guests, having a beer and chatting. The rooms are very cozy and beautifully decorated. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is very clean. I had the luck to have a bedroom upgrade free of charge but all the rooms are very good. The entire structure is made of wood which gives a very romantic and magical atmosphere to the place. Every room has its own outdoor space facing the courtyard, with a little sofa or a chase longue and a table. The owner is a charming Mongolian man who will welcome you with a big smile and the best hospitality. We wanted to buy Yunnan coffee so he took us there personally and was always available to help with everything. Besides, it was very interesting discussing with him about a myriad of topics. I most definetly recommend this place!

The best place of our 3 weeks in China

Highly recommended place. The rooms are perfect, clean and comfortable. The owner is super nice and helped us organise transportation for our trek to Tiger Leaping Gorge. She also kept our bags while we were there. Great value for money!

A mixed review
Avaliou em 28 de dezembro de 2016
This review is mixed as the hostel has both good aspects and things that could be improved. The room was lovely and we were upgraded to one on the second floor. The bed was probably the most comfy we've had so far in China and it came with an electric blanket. The room was clean and came with a TV that had a lot of movies in English. However, only one side of the electric blanket worked on a double bed and the shower, although hot, was quite weak. The woman who runs the hostel was helpful in organising the bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge and helping us get around the area on public transport. She also stored our luggage whilst we were on the hike and, because we'd booked for three nights in total, we got dropped off for free at the airport. However, she was also keen to push her products, constantly trying to sell us coffee and offering us free tea so that her brother could try and sell us his jade products. In addition, it felt like our comings and goings were monitored, as she constantly popped out of the office as we were arriving/leaving. Finally, although we asked for our airport drop off to be at 3:15, the car didn't arrive until 3:45. Unbeknown to us, they had decided that would be a better time for us, but did not communicate this. The brother just kept telling us to relax through the use of an online translator. 3:15 may have been too early but this should have been discussed with us, as it was up to us to decide when we would like to leave, and they did not raise concerns when we booked the car in the morning. Overall, the room is nice but the place lacks atmosphere.

Lovely inn & excellent value for money

This inn was really the best value for money & had the nicest hosts on our whole holiday to China. The room (deluxe queen with view) was spacious, comfortable & nicely decorated. The view of a field with mountains in the background is nice. The hosts gave us a detailed map & some useful information on arrival. There were electric blankets on the bed, but it was still quite warm in early November. The location on the TripAdvisor map is not accurate. I would recommend booking a transfer with the inn (¥80 from the airport or free one way if you stay 3 nights or more; 45min). They emailed beforehand to arrange. It's is in a quiet area, 1 block from the edge of the old town & an arterial pedestrian street that runs all the way to the main square. So it's easy to find your way back (once you're there). There aren’t many negatives – if I must nit-pick then I would say we couldn’t get the TV working properly. But then we should have asked the owners to show us how! Lijiang itself was very pretty; I’m glad we went.

the place is a bit hard to find but after you'll find it you will not regret. the place runs by a friendly cuple who will do everything they can to help you during your stay. the room was basic and we had everything we needed in it.
