Yet again, what a superb stay! Your staff are the key to a WONDERFUL visit! We stayed in the Penfold room, with me having crock knees.. lovely ground floor room with super kingsize bed, double sink, a bath AND a walk in shower! We were both catered for. Even though the room was hot ( mid March and without the heating on) I did find a good fan in the wardrobe to regulate that! I’m not sure what else you could do. The facilities more than made up for that. The FOOD was amazing. Pete and I stayed Saturday night and ate from the a la carte menu The sirloin steak we each had was without DOUBT the best steak we have ever eaten… I only usually eat fillet steak as I don’t like fatty meat..this was melt in the mouth gorgeous and your chefs are to be commended! Breakfast was equally great..we were there to share Mothers Day and my ma in laws 83rd birthday..again, nothing was too much trouble and all was fantastic! Loved it, we Will be back. Thankyou for a memorable weekend! From Adriana and Harriet who answered so many queries pre-stay, to everyone who provided such a lovely break, you were great!

Delicious meal with positive atmosphere

Delicious meal. Starters monkfish scampi. The fish was fresh and the butter was lovely and crunchy. Main was steak, tasty and moist sourced from a good farm accompanying gravy was also good and generous. Second main was pasta with wild mushrooms in cream sauce. The pasta, tagliatelle was freshly made (hello), the sauce was simple cream and mushroom however it was tasty with nice amount of parmigiano. House champagne (hello again) was good. We can happily report no alcoholic headache next day. Two starters, two main and 3 glasses of wine £95, it was cooked well so although little pricey it was ok for those extra touches like house champagne and home made pasta. The pasta dish at £17…that was cheeky. It is so hard to find an honest restaurant with good food. Well done Lamb. Not that hard - for £45 per person we want to eat what we can’t cook at home. Fresh good quality produce and tasty decent wine. The staff was happy and you know what so were the customers around us. Happy staff like their jobs and give more and customers get better service. Thank you Lamb for making an effort and delivering good food and good atmosphere. There is no service charge, in this instance staff really deserve it.

A fantastic place to eat and stay! Booked a last minute room as local chain hotel was full but extremely glad it was now as my stay at The Lamb has been above and beyond. I ordered food for my arrival (as kitchen would be shut) and when traffic delayed me further the staff were so polite and accommodating! Had a lovely, tasty and delicate (and hot!) open vegetarian lasagne which was certainly worth the drive! My room was lovely: warm, clean, very comfortable and smelling of fresh linen with all the extra touches you would hope for. I was pleasantly surprised as wasn’t sure what to expect but even better than the pics! Most of all the staff were very welcoming and professional, especially Gemma who was very cheerful and helpful. A great stay and would highly recommend for future visits.

A wonderful welcome and comfy bed

We received a fantastic welcome from The Lamb team on arrival. They were kind enough to book a table for dinner for us just in case we didn’t have plans and were really helpful offering to book taxis if needed. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was delicious too and again with wonderful service. Many thanks to all!

One night stay

Stayed for one night having seen recommendations and certainly wasn't disappointed. A lovely setting at the heart of the village, staff welcoming, great pub and restaurant, evening meal excellent, room was spacious with a fantastic bathroom, good nights sleep, good breakfast. Decided to have Sunday lunch, once again food excellent. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend The Lamb to anyone contemplating staying in the area.
