First stayed at this fantastic hotel when my cousin had her wedding at hotel in March 2019. We have stayed 4 more times since, 3 times now since may! My last visit was just a night to attend a family funeral. We couldn’t get a family room due to being fully booked but we managed to get a double room and a camp bed was placed in room for my son. The staff are so friendly and always willing to help. Food is good and the gin range is fantastic. Nice swimming pool where children are welcome. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else while visiting the area. Already checking to see if we can come back before Christmas

Room was a total disappointment

Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and most of the hotel was old but reasonably smart, we were totally disappointed with our room. We were on the 4th floor and it was so hot in there that even keeping the curtains closed and a fan on all day abd night we couldn't cool it down. Only disappointment of our stay

My husband and I stayed here for a 3night break last week to include our 50th. Wedding Anniversary. We have been here before and the hotel hasn’t changed in appearance but there were a lot of new young staff, who did a very good job; all pleasant and approachable. The food, we had, was very tasty and as we celebrated our anniversary there we had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The lounge is big and ideal after your meal. Llandrindod is very small but it’s got a lovely lake up from the hotel, a nice museum next to the hotel and it’s not far, by car, to Rhayader, (a lovely small town with the Royal Welsh Crystal shop just a short distance away.) The only downside was the warm rooms, there isn’t air-conditioning or even a fan to cool them down. We would recommend the hotel to stay in and would go there again.

We previously visited the Metropole 6 years ago & decided to visit again after following Justin’s videos during lockdown (of the hotel). The booking process over the phone was easy & we had a special offer for when we stayed of 3 nights for the price of 2 due to a cancellation. There is a large car park to the rear of the hotel & then a lift to get you upto the ground floor. We then made our way to reception, we checked in which was easy & told where our rooms were (porters were available if required). I think I had the same room as my previous stay. We then unpacked & then made our to the spa, where we we met & explained where things were the changing facilities were good & clean. The pool was a good size 54’ (not the 54” on the app) even though it was a kidney shape you could get 4 or 5 people swimming in it without too much trouble, we didn’t try out the spa bath, sauna or steam room. The hotel is getting a bit tired around the edges now & could do with some updates, however this would probably incur some increase in prices, the public areas were fine though. The Metropole is in a good location to tour mid Wales attractions & coast line, just don’t expect everything to be perfect. The bills were put under our room doors so we could check them prior to checking out which was a nice touch. There are separate reviews for the restaurants.

The hotel is very well sited and well appointed and well looked after. We were part of a tour and all was well. We had a lovely room with masses of space. The only criticisms I had were that the shower was on the ceiling and so when you turned it on you immediately had a cold shower from on high. The bathroom light was on a sensor and stayed on long after you were back in bed. The breakfast was acceptable. Usual beef about the toast which you did yourself! Once slightly dried and if you put it through twice it was too brown! The staff were all amazingly good
