Um sonho britânico

Impecável! Realizei um sonho em terras da rainha! Tudo de bom e de melhor. Excepcional. Os restaurantes são fantásticos. Mas tem que reservar. A piscina fechada com água aquecida é uma maneira de relaxar mesmo nos clima frio.
First time at Bodysgallen

I have been coming to Llandudno for the last 70 years! . I have always wanted to stay at Bodysgallen and at last got the opportunity. Stayed in a cottage because we had our dog with us. We were not disappointed. This is a magnificent hotel. The cottage was well appointed and even had dog bed and treats supplied. From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. The gardens for dog walking are ideal. Individual cooked breakfast a welcome change from stale buffet so often supplied in most hotels these days. Dinner in the evening could not be faulted. Excellent well cooked and a very interesting menu . The hotel and dining is not cheap but you get what you pay for. This is a hotel to return too and we will be back. Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in.

Afternoon tea on the terrace

Had a birthday afternoon tea voucher -so we booked easily and arrived in lovely weather so opted for outside on the terrace. The service from a young waiter was excellent with tea in a lovely silver teapot and sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes on 3 tiers. Amazing view from the terrace and a walk round their delightful gardens. Lovely afternoon . Many thanks.
Old-fashioned style and luxury near the heartlands of Snowdonia
Avaliou em 29 de julho de 2022
An aunt who lived locally used to take me here for supper occasionally well over 40 years ago. Today's incarnation lives up to the memory - the style, the luxury and the speed bumps .... Today this is an unusual hotel for many reasons - do some research before you book, some aspects are truly exceptional, others may irritate. Let's start with the surrounds: You are within a short drive of Snowdonia's best walks and many gentle tourist attractions (nearby Bodnant Gardens are particularly to be recommended). You are on a large estate, need a car to get to the nearest pubs or restaurants, there are really beautiful private gardens, plenty of sheep and serious speed bumps (well many years ago there were bumps but they have been replaced by speed ditches - drive slowly !) The weather in this part of Wales is a both a little wet and extremely local - it can be sunny all day in one place and raining all day 10 miles away. The dim hum of traffic on the A55 a couple of miles away is audible when you're outside. The buildings are old but have been well modernised and maintained over the years (the first WC was installed in 1822 !) and furnished with a mix of modern and antique items. Bed was really comfortable, bathroom fine (it's unusual to come across an American-style shower mixer tap in a UK hotel, worked fine of course). No airco in our generously sized 'cottage' - but on Britain's hottest ever day large portable fans were available so hot but not uncomfortable. It was nice to have a kitchenette with Nespresso machine (kept stocked with 6 capsules, no need to buy your own), fridge (fresh milk provided) and sink but no way of heating food (so OK for preparing your own breakfast if you like, not really for supper). Generous breakfast (reservation in advance requested) - self service continental (with sweet things, no ham or cheese) plus optional cooked Full Welsh (or fish) for those planning a long walk .... Silver cutlery, gold rimmed Villeroy and Boch tableware (the sort you don't put in a dishwasher). Formally dressed catering staff. Restaurant with view over the lovely gardens. We chose not to have supper here because we wanted to sample the variety of what was on offer locally so can't comment on that. There's a reasonably sized pool / sauna / spa complex (outsiders can pay for membership but it's not overfull). Personnel are very friendly, a little formal, efficient. Wifi is poor both in room and in communal areas (as is 4G reception) - while it works this is not a place to stream videos. All in all you are paying a little over the odds for a very special place with a few flaws - its uniqueness is a large part of its charm; you could enjoy your stay here as a retreat for a few days, a base for tourist attractions or a base for mountain walking. Or all three. We'll be back before the next 40 years are up ......
