The most perfect heavenly place

This is a slice of paradise set in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
I will go on to discuss the beautiful cottages but it would be rude not to start with the owners who also manage the property, Ed and Marian. Utterly delightful pair who could not have made us more welcome. Everything was thought of and anticipated. Additionally we were offered lifts, washing services and charcoal for the BBQ, the latter gratefully accepted. Marian greeted us with a basket of homemade bread, still warm, butter, cereals, fresh coffee, biscuits, tea, homemade cakes (delicious) and homemade marmalade (exquisite) and to top it all our dog Cooper was so warmly welcomed and looked after, treats daily and much much love and attention (plus acres and acres of land to roam as his own!). He fell in love with the place (and Bella the spaniel) …. So much so that I believe he is depressed today to leave and literally sulked (literally, and a photo to prove) as we packed the car.
So the cottages … we were privileged to stay in Valley View however all 3 are equally as beautiful charming and stunningly set up. All furniture and items are top class quality and as per above, nothing has been missed.
Much of the cottage furniture and structures are reclaimed (very professionally and to stunning levels of quality).
We don’t have need for accessibility consideration however one thing that did attract me to book was the immense detail to ensure the highest approvals had been gained to enable the cottages to be suitable for all levels of disability. If you require your holiday to accommodate for accessibility need there is nowhere more suiting and beautiful and may I say designed with high style and beautiful thought. I have several contacts and friends in the sphere of accessible travel one being the inspirational Geraldine Lundy MBE and she was immediately updated in this wonderful place.
It was a joy to have a week to chat to Edward and Marian (including chatting about their incredible past, including hitch hiking across Persia and Afghanistan ……) whilst Ed constructed a pizza firing oven and outdoor oven on the stunning patio! That pair are far too talented and super lovely to boot!
Just go there, the area earns its AONB stamp for sure but Thatch Close is a haven in the middle of it and we have literally never been anywhere so tranquil and beautiful.
Our love and thanks dear Ed, Marian and Bel Bel, see you soon.

Ps sorry if Mr C left all his sticks scattered as his leaving present! He is still sulking, honestly!
Perfect stay in beautiful Herefordshire.

Our family of 4 with our young dog had the most wonderful stay. Brambles Barn as well as looking beautiful was spotless and had the most stunning view of the rolling hills. Perfectly located for the River Wye and the Brecon Beacons. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Edward and Marion, our charming hosts for a super time.
Valley View - superb accessible accommodation and location

We’ve just returned from our third stay in Valley View, our first chance since the lockdowns of the last 16 months were eased, and it is as faultless as ever.
My wife is hemiplegic and wheelchair-bound after a stroke 8 years ago so we’re picky about where we go but this accommodation has been thoughtfully – and generously – planned and built specifically for people with different disabilities, with no expense spared, and the owners couldn’t be more helpful in providing any special extra equipment needed.
Cars / WAVs can be parked within 2-3 metres of the front door for easy egress of wheelchairs and unloading of equipment and luggage. There are no narrow doors or spaces, no difficult right-angle corners and there’s ample turning room for wheelchairs everywhere (the doors are six inches wider than the official recommendations and there’s extra space at the foot of the beds so a wheelchair can get through).
Cooking surfaces and the washbasin are powered and can be raised and lowered and shower chairs, fixed and mobile, are available. Plenty of power points for chargers and other equipment too. On arrival you also find a ‘presentation pack’ to die for, including milk, fresh bread, home-made marmalade, biscuits, tea and ground-coffee bags etc.
The views over the rolling border hills are wonderful and our only slight disappointment was that we didn’t hear a cuckoo this year! However, ravens and peregrines can be seen from the (accessible) Symonds Yat viewpoint.
We have absolutely no reservations about recommending this to anybody with physical limitations, or to people who just like a lot of space. The ability to link it with Brambles Barn means you can stay with other family and friends while still having your own private spaces.
If you have any queries, contact the owners in advance – they are unfailingly helpful and informative. I’ve tried to find out how to give it 6* but have had to settle for 5*.
1st Class Accommodation in a beautiful setting

We spent 5 nights in Brambles Barn in early May 21 - our 3rd visit to this beautiful cottage. Relatives were in the accessible cottage next door. Everything is beautifully designed and kept. The welcome pack is exceptional - homemade bread, superb marmalade, cake etc etc. In good weather you don't need to go anywhere - just sit on the various patios looking out at the beautiful views and the sunsets in the evening. However there is plenty to do nearby. We'll be back again I'm sure.

We absolutely loved our stay in Valley View, the cottage was clean and cosy and the goodies left in the cottage on arrival added a lovely touch - the homemade bread and cake were delicious. Hosts Edward and Marian were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the place was truly dog friendly with walks from the doorstep. Would highly recommend the Indian restaurant/takeaway in Whitchurch (a ten minute drive) from Thatch Close.
Can't wait to return!
