Nice room, bad bathroom
The room is nice modern, but the bathroom is not. I guess they skipped it when making renovations. Location of the hotel is somewhat OK, a long walk to the center, probably about 30 minutes. Breakfast is OK. Leaving 4 stars because of the bathroom and location, but if you don't care about this stuff, it's 5 stars for you.
Comfortable city hotel
I stayed there already few times and I am very positively surprised. The brand, in US or Western Europe is associated with really just an "inn". Here in Łódź it is a proper 4 star business hotel, with great rooms, fantastic breakfasts, good gym and nice parking.
Holiday Inn Lodz - different city, same awesome experience!
Hello people! Another experience with Holiday Inn but this time on a Business trip to Lodz, Poland. Actually this one was my second trip to the facility (last one in Dec 2018) so I had to put in a review to be fair. This facility is in the sleepy but still lovely city of Lodz - have to admit there is less active life here and Sundays are pretty creepy to even step out. This was converted from a Textile city to an inhabitable one which is why most structures are literally 'brick-walled' but there's a certain charm to it. Okay, back to the hotel review ... Facility: This is a business hotel so don't expect a resort-like experience. Decently sized reception area with spaces nicely used. Restaurant on one side and bar on the other. Welcome was very smooth and quick. I was made to feel special due to my Elite IHG membership and that added another feather to the experience. Friendly staff! Rooms: Lovely(!), as you would expect from an IHG facility [Read my earlier reviews on Intercontinental Warsaw and the Holiday Inns in Goa]. All facilities you would need - good storage space, large bed, sofas, iron(!) and extremely well kept bathrooms. Food : Breakfast spread is adequate if not large. Basic needs of proteins, juices, coffee etc are easily taken care of. Staff can do well to smile a bit more but they're not grumpy either, just busy. Dined on the Sunday evening that i landed and the Chicken Caesar salad was really good (only vice was pieces of almost-raw fish in it which i loathed and didn't quite understand frankly!). The lady serving beer at the pub was cutely scurrying about with her work but also ensuring guest needs were taken care of. She served some really nice red wine which i hadn't tried before. Service: Efficient staff. No complaints! Facilities: Good pub with a decent assortment. Gym was comparatively big with decent equipment. Overall a very good experience, and I would have no qualms about coming back. Cheers to that!
don;t go there
No one greeted me as a IHG member ( Platinum Mebers) for the first time ever. I didn't get the room I ordered - not to mention the upgrade. At my request to change the room, I heard NO. Just NO! Nobody made any gesture to fix their mistake or just to be nice. Nothing. The General Manager of this property was not interested in fixing this situation as well. SHAME! I won't mention old bathrooms or dirty towels because it doesn't make sense. There is information on the building that the hotel has 4 stars - this is not true. This is a 3 stars hotel. I am surprised and shocked at how I was treated - for the first time on IHG hotels something like this happened to me.
Great choice for Lodz visit. Always welcoming and helpful personnel. Centrally located and easy accessible. There is bus and tram station just by the hotel. Room was good in size, always spotlessly clean. There is a safe box, mini fridge, coffee/tea facilities and complimentary water. My room was facing backyard and was very quiet. I would found daily "have a good day" note from housekeeping, which was really appreciated and made me feel very welcome :) Breakfast offers good warm and cold choice of dishes, with several authentic polish cheese and meat dishes.
