Peaceful Getaway!
Avaliou em 23 de janeiro de 2023
Booked a night away for my husband and I, and we were very pleased! We had an adorable cabin with a woodstove, and two Q beds. This place was as clean as could be! We had dinner Saturday night and it was outstanding; we both had the Ribeye. The Blackberry Cobler was absolutely fabulous! I almost ordered it for breakfast the next day... but I ordered the Huckleberry Pancake... singular. It covered the entire plate! And it was packed with flavor. I couldn't eat it all but enjoyed every bit. Staff was friendly and everyone around us was having a great time. Look forward to going back!

Draconian Cancellation Policy
Avaliou em 22 de agosto de 2022
I've stayed at the Lochsa Lodge at end of September every year for over the last 15 years. In the past I would have given them a 5 as a review. However, with a new owner they have changed the cancellation policy to $25 before 30 days, one night plus $25 between 30 and 7 days, and the full amount within 7 days. From their reservation website: "COVID is NOT a reason to cancel without penalty - Cancellation policy applies in cases of personal illness & injury. Weather is NOT a reason to cancel without penalty - we are open 365 days a year in all weather conditions." This is one of the most severe cancellation policies I've ever encountered.

Sisters/cousins weekend getaway
Avaliou em 31 de julho de 2022
We booked a room, number 16 Upper Lodge, for two nights, July 29 and July 30. I had done my homework and knew ahead of time that there was no AC but they provided a box fan for extra cooling and we were having an unusually hot summer day so I brought an extra fan. The drive over from Missoula was just beautiful and we stopped and put our feet in the clear water of the Lochsa River before checking in to our room. There were four of us, two sets of sisters. The cabin had two queen beds that were quite comfortable and the room was spacious and clean and cozy. The bathroom was also clean and stocked with nice, thick white towels and your typical hotel type toiletries and hairdryer. A small coffee pot with coffee also provided. There was also a TV and alarm clock and a nice wood stove in the corner. DVD's were available for use in the main Lodge. The front porch was covered with bench seating on either side. The grounds were green and lovely with nice, tall trees and you knew you were in God's country. We took advantage of the fire pit in the evening and sat out hoping to see some shooting stars from the meteor showers that were going on....we did see see a couple, but the best part was the gorgeous dark sky filled with a zillion stars overhead and the sound of the Lochsa River in the background and the smell of the fire and the pine and cedar trees. This made for a truly wonderful, relaxing end to a warm day and we were able to cool off before going to bed for the night. I only have a couple of suggestions for the grounds crew: Your property is so beautiful and you spend time watering to keep it green. It's a shame that you let some of the areas by the cabins get overgrown with weeds. Our cabin was a four Plex and the one behind us had a deck with weeds as high as the porch. Our cabin also had weeds at least 3-4 feet high very close to it and in between our cabin and the propane tanks and the next cabin. We brought a portable picnic table to eat lunch at and would have enjoyed it more if we could have moved it back a ways under the trees out of the sun. That being said, I think it would enhance the beauty of your grounds if it was all mowed and groomed. The only other negative was our breakfast on Sunday morning. We dined at the Lodge on Friday night and Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning. We had great meals all four times and great servers (Dustin and Johnny Spruce 😁) The only thing was Sunday morning we arrived at the same time as Saturday and were told we would be put on a "waiting list". There were no people "waiting" and no people sitting at tables in the dining room. There were several empty tables, clean tables,in the dining room and a few people visible sitting on the outdoor deck. The attendant took our name and said it would be 15-20 minutes. After she walked away my cousin looked at the sheet of paper on the stand and all the names above us were crossed off and we were the only ones (four people) "waiting.🤔🤔🤔 The dining room on Saturday was much busier and people were actually "waiting before us and some coming in after us and we we able to choose a table on the deck immediately. I don't really understand why this was done. Anyway, all in all, the food and the servers were awesome and none of the things I've mentioned would keep me from booking with Lochsa again, it's just suggestions for change or consideration. You have a beautiful property and should be proud of your success and options for improvement. Thank you for a great weekend.

Great technology break…and great service!

Relaxing 2 day getaway, short scenic drive from Missoula area. LOVE the fact that there is no wifi in cabins and limited service in lodge, the forced technology break was an unexpected highlight. Cabin 12 was ideal, loved the small wood burning stove and appreciate the early checkin. Would stay there again for sure. Everything we needed and nothing that we didn’t. Staff made a positive impression when we had an issue with our truck and they made a huge effort to assist. Long story short, when I was changing our tire the wheel was frozen onto the hub. We were out of options and they brought out a blowtorch, then finally got it off when one of their staff crawled under the truck in the snow and used the back of an ax to get it broken loose. This went way above and beyond good service, and showed us this crew truly cares about their guests.

Fantastic stay

Huge thanks to Ruben and the team for a lovely place to stay and delicious food. We ate dinner and breakfast at the lodge and LOVED cabin #12. We were in the area for some hiking and hot spring soaking and cannot wait to return with our friends am family. There was a large party (25+) who were eating dinner at the same time as us but you would have never known. Mazy (the server) paid us close attention and made sure all of our needs were met and she received great support from the owner who was running around with bud bins, filling our beer glasses and washing dishes. Very impressive to see an owner so supportive and engaged in their operations. Thanks y’all!
