Nothing fancy, but lovely, comfortable, amazing view and fabulous restaurant. The chef on Thursday night was exceptional. Accommodated my food sensitivities brilliantly. Rooms are comfy and clean. I would highly recommend.

Jewel in the Heart of the Adirondacks!

Avaliou em 12 de julho de 2022

Matt and Nate run a wonderful peaceful retreat right in the heart of the Adirondacks on RT. 30. We stayed in room 5 with a great view of the lake from front window. Rooms are cozy and with all the amenities you would want (big TV, new bed linens, mattress etc.) but the jewel is the property views and restaurant. Ben the chef brings a NYC vibe to the food-most restaurants in this area are diner inspired. Coffee service is fresh throughout the day-no breakfast is served but check out Chef Darrell's new diner in Blue Mountain for a classic meal. Bonus is the dock and beach for relaxing with cocktails-BTW their bar is so lively with locals and tourists mixing and telling fish tales.

Off Day?

My wife and I stayed here on an anniversary trip to the Adirondacks. We found a lot of difficulty finding a place to stay near Tupper Lake and ended up here. First the positives--the rooms are clean and semi-rustic feel. For example the headboard was tree limb/branch sort of stuff, we really liked this part. The view off the back deck looking out over the lake was very peaceful and relaxing, it was a nice place to unwind after a day of driving and running around seeing things. Now for the problems--The website talks about an onsite restaurant with lunch and dinner. I don't know if it is outdated or what but when we were there (Tuesday at end of June) it is only open for dinners on Wed-Sun so no food there. There was no one at the front desk, you called on the phone and after about 10 minutes Matt (I think) drove up to check us in. We asked about checking out the next day he said he would not be around and to just leave the key (a real key, not electronic) on the counter. If we went out for dinner or the night that we should make sure to take our key because they lock the front door after the last guest of the evening checks in. It just struck me as strange--what do you do if you run out of towels or toilet paper (almost happened), do you call him? Drive around looking for a place to buy those things? I could understand if no one was there but at different points I noticed a total of 6 cars in the lots, suggests that about half the rooms were filled. The rooms were comfortable in terms of temperature but I didn't see anything AC related, not sure what happens if it gets really warm. Overall it was an interesting place with a lot of big positives. I liked parts but the parts that unsettled me (mostly no one on site) made me uncomfortable and I would not stay again though some other people may be ok with that.

Amazing place to stay and eat

We just stayed at the long view lodge. This will be our two year staying there. It's our snowmobile trip. We didn't get in till around 8:30 pm. The minute we walked in, the owners greeted us with open arms. They made sure the kitchen was aware we were there. Because they closed at 9:00, they never rushed us. We CAN NOT EXPRESS how excellent the food is. By far probably the best food we all have had in a long time. Top-notch for sure. When we got done eating, they made a fire in the other room to sit around and relax! If you have not stayed there or eaten there, you need to take the time to go! I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for making our stay so welcoming.

A gem of a hotel.

Fourteen of us stayed at various rooms. The rooms were all very clean and updated. This lodge give you a feeling of what it was like stepping back in time. So relaxing. The staff is beyond accommodating. THE FOOD and the dinner staff are amazing. Some of the owners had a restaurant is San Francisco and they clearly knew how to present a meal to remember. It was a perfect choice for our Adirondack reunion. Do not hesitate to stay here.
