Hotel Valet Wrecked Our Rental Car!

Let me begin by saying that I rarely leave poor reviews. We actually stayed at this Embassy Suites last summer. I’m just now leaving this review for several reasons. About an hour after checking into our room, we received a call from the desk clerk asking us to please come downstairs to speak with them as their had been an accident with our car. Apparently, a female valet attendant was trying to park our car and ran into the concrete pole and caused thousands of dollars of damage. It took us nearly 6 months to get our deposit back from the rental company. The whole thing was a nightmare. The car made jiggly noises the whole way on our five hour drive back home. Note that valet is mandatory at this hotel. Hilton actually contracts with another company that hires their own employees that valet your car. We are Hilton Honors Gold members. Hilton offered us nothing (no bonus points, future free room-nothing) except their apology for enduring this disaster. The valet company did not make us pay for valet but dear Lord the cost of out rental car deposit was 15 times the price of valet. Anyways, the room was lovely and clean. We enjoyed the nightly reception and having a CVS Pharmacy attached to the hotel. Please note that there were many homeless people lying around and walking around the front of the hotel throughout our stay. Some were drinking alcohol out of paper bags and asking women for dates as they walked by. My husband wouldn’t let me go outside the hotel without him as he didn’t think it was very safe. Obviously, we won’t ever stay at this hotel, again. We are still Hilton Honors Gold but I’ve been thinking about shifting to the Hyatt or Marriott after this mess.

Excellent location downtown on 4th Street close to restaurants-beautifully decorated-clean-free made to order breakfast and Manager's reception is a huge plus - who doesn't want to get more for their money? $15/day parking in garage around the corner as opposed to $36/day valet Highly recommend this hotel!

The front desk staff were absolutely great I loved Sean and Jilisea. Sean made my stay so great by having such an inviting and fun attitude. He gave great tips on the city and he was fun and engaging. We also attended the evening reception which was pretty good. I make it a point to stay at Embassy Suites and usually during the reception there is usually chips, salsa, or something to snack on. With this reception they only had a prepackaged cookie and a prepackaged tropical trail mix which they handed out because of covid. I thought that to be strange since they did have a full delicious breakfast. For the reunion and for the evening reception there was a young lady named Stephanie. I can tell you that as soon as out class or plate was empty she was there to pick it up. Stephanie was extremely efficient in her job. I even stood up to bring my glass to her and told her that I would put it up and she would not allow it she is a great asset to the Hilton Brand. We did stay in a terrace suit and the room was beautiful. I would make one suggestion for the terrace suites and that would be to put some type of chairs outside so that they can be enjoyed more. I did have one little misunderstanding on my bill and Jilisia explained to me what happened with my bill and Rickie was able to fix it so gong forward I will be very educated on the matter. Another hidden gem that many may not know about is the game room which is on the same floor as the indoor pool. The arcade games were free to play. My husband and I played Street Fighter. Even though I won 1/10 games it was a victory none the less and I am counting it. This hotel is stone throw away from Fourth Street and other shops, so that was also a plus.Overall I had a great time at this hotel and I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing place to stay! Everyone was welcoming, the breakfast was great with the cooked to krder omelets! Cocktail hour was a nice bonus! The room was spacious and clean! We were in walking distance to all the city had to offer or a short Lyft ride away!

Homeless Issue

The hotel was nice and quiet as usual for Embassy but it is situated in not great area downtown chaos and homelessness. Felt totally unsafe to go past valet as a group of them constantly asking for anything and following you. Even one hit a patron of hotel for no reason. All staff could do was laugh. Then 4th street live down the block a joke, everything closing down and seemed dirty. Seems like another San Francisco soon.
