Nice hotel for a comparatively (for Louisville) reasonable price

Wife and I stayed Saturday and Sunday (10/16-10/17/21). Lady at check-in, as well as the "breakfast lady", were very nice. You can either park at the small (20-30 spots?) self-pay surface parking lot on the east side of the hotel for $15/night or use the parking garage next to that for $20/night (charge to your room). Since we didn't plan on using our car, we just used the surface lot with no issues.
Room (413) was nice & clean with a very comfortable bed, sofa and all the kitchen stuff (medium size fridge, dishes, silverware, dishwasher, etc.) that you'd use if you were staying a while. Separate toilet/shower area that was pretty tight. Absolutely no view, except a small open area with other buildings/windows. Lobby had plenty of lounge chairs, sofas and even a pool table. There's also a pretty good-sized outside lounge area with a firepit (didn't see it used while we were there). Didn't use the pool or fitness center either.
Breakfast was okay (cereal, waffle maker, juices, 2% milk only, coffee, raisin bagels, bread & mini banana bread muffins, potatoes & scrambled eggs both days). The only difference was Canadian bacon on Sunday and biscuits & gravy on Monday. I will say that the biscuits were the best I've had at a hotel breakfast, soft and fluffy as opposed to the normal "hard as a rock" at most hotels.
One of the best things about this hotel is the elevators. The two that they have must be the fasted elevators I've ever seen in a hotel...it takes no time for them to get you where you want to go!
Nothing to do with the hotel, but just some info...don't expect to find much to do or more than a couple bars/restaurants open in downtown Louisville on a Sunday...it's almost a ghost town.

I enjoyed the space of the suite and the full kitchen. The room and lobby were clean and staff was welcoming. Also, it was raining on the last day of our stay and the front desk was kind enough to let us borrow and return an umbrella.
Reasonable accommodations in Downtown Louisville

The Homewood Suites in Louisville is located just a few blocks of such attractions as the Muhammad Ali Center, the yum Center and the Louisville Slugger Factory.Museum. It is easy to get to from the airport and the major highways heading out North, South East and West. It offers basic amenities such as breakfast, a small pool, and workout equipment. They offer overnight parking for an additional charge.
The staff was very easy to work with!
A home away from home...

I have stayed at the Homewood Suites on and off, usually 2-3 months at a time since last year. When I came to Louisville last year to start a charity, in the middle of the pandemic, Homewood opened their doors, welcoming me with an incredible and supportive staff and warm atmosphere. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable while showering my dog Mercy with treats.
Since then, I have chosen Homewood again and again. This last time I stayed for 3 months. They are like a family to me. Matt and John, the management are so warm, friendly, and supportive. They truly care. And they have created a culture and a team of people who care. Coming "home" to smiles and a warm welcome is a great experience for someone who spends so much time away from home.
If you have to travel or will be staying long in Louisville I recommend Homewood. As a woman traveling alone trying to create a movement and make an impact, my environment is so key, and having that love and that team that feels like a family, makes all the difference.
The place is beautiful, a great lobby to hold one on one meetings, a great conference room, 24 hour coffee in the kitchen, and free breakfast if you need it.
I cannot recommend this enough.
Nice hotel but limited amenities

Beds are uncomfortable and so we’re the pillows, room was very nice overall. Lack of watching options and only one location to get drinks or snacks. Breakfast was decent and changed each day a little. Great location downtown
